These Keens are great. Durable for the playground and everyday use, even when things are a little mucky, but look nice with a pair of cords for dressing up a little more. My son used them last Fall/Winter/Spring and I just bought another pair for this year. Since they only come in full sizes, they may fit a little loosely in the correct size for a while (his old ones are too small but the new ones are a little loose), but I just put thick socks underneath. Runs a bit small for the size number -- my son still fits into his size 11 Keen Newports, but needs a 12 now in these.

This is now the second pair of this exact same shoe that I've purchased for my son - because it's such a GREAT shoe! I got these shoes last year, and now I'm getting them again for this year. This time, however, I spent FAR LESS buying them from Onlineshoes.com! I love this shoe because it can be worn for dressier occassions and casually. With the upcoming holidays, it's the perfect, comfortable shoe for boys! My son's foot is wide, and the Keen's are naturally wide, so it's perfect. He never complains that they hurt - I can't say that for all the shoes he has tried on!This exact shoe can be found in a lot of specialty catalogs, but they are much more expensive. For the price on Onlineshoes.com, you just can't go wrong!

I love these shoes - the fit, the look - my boys look adorable in them and love them. HAVING SAID THAT, I'm bummed to report that we've had to send them back - THREE times! I bought them for my 7 year old - the triangular elastic piece on one shoe blew out after two wears. I sent them back and got a replacement [...]). The replacements did the same thing after wear #2. I would have tried his a 3rd time, but his size is out, so just have to return. Now, my 4-year-old's shoes are doing the same thing! Several more wears - like maybe 20, but c'MON! Surprised that only two others reported the same problem here, but that is 3 out of 18 that did - not the best odds - 20%. A real shame, I dig these shoes otherwise. They even make my little one's feet stink like you wouldn't believe and I didn't care - until they fell apart...

After wearing Keens for many years, I decided to try them for my son. He has loved this shoe from the first time he put them on his feet (These are bouncy, Mom!) That's 8 YO speak for: love 'em and they are comfy. So far, not much signs of wear. Keep up the good work, Keen!

The tops of these shoes pinch down on chubby little toes and there is a seam running across the insole that made my son complain about something being in his shoe. He's not picky about shoes so I knew if he complained, they must be uncomfortable. They will be returned as we purchased a more comfortable pair elsewhere.

Wearing these shoes feels like walking on pillows. If you have a narrow or regular width foot and like your shoes to fit snug or just right with socks/non socks...these shoes are NOT for you. If you have a platypus width or like your shoes to fit not too loose but with room, these shoes are for you. You can wear thick or regular socks nicely, even barefoot and have a bit of room. As you wear them they form to your foot. The leather on this keen style is soft and supple, not stiff. The more more you wear them, the inner sole becomes more relaxed giving a "pillow" feel to them. I bought one pair and loved them so much I bought a second pair to store away until these wear out. The style is great with shorts wearing no or low socks, with jeans or khaki's. You decide! Its all good!

I wear the shoes in the Office where I work. I run up and down stairs and am required to kneal down and also to climb ladders. Very comfortable for all the work out I give them!
The shoes keep my feet comfortable and warm.
The only downside is that my feet occationally get wet (from sweat) and then my feet get cold.
Then I prefer the Keen open sandle style. They are well vented and comfortable too.

This is a great company and this particular shoe is terrific. It looks like a dress shoe but feels like a sneaker. It is the perfect shoe for my 5 year old. He can put them on in a hurry -- by himself. The reinforced toe is great to protect his little piggies. We have this shoe in every color that they made.

Bought these for my nine year old to be able to slip off and on quickly. As all Keens in our home these were a wonderful addition. Very simple shoes, and very easy to wear- just like they look. Once again Keen has provided my whole family with nothing but great shoes!~!

We returned these as they were not comfortable to my 6 year old son. The opening for the foot is very wide--making them feel unstable. Usually we love Keens.

My 7 1/2 year-old wore these twice before the side seam of one of the shoes blew completely out. We are big fans of the Keen brand and were really disappointed that the Whistlers didn't live up to the Keen standard. [...]I'm not certain we'll be purchasing more Keen shoes the next go round. By the way, if you do brave this style, please order a size up, and know that Keen shoes run quite wide.

I have bought a number of Keen shoes and they have all held up well. This shoe is easy for my son to put on by himself and is great for everyday wear as well as with chinos for a more dressed up look. The side stitching on the 1st pair I purchased did rip after being worn only a few times[...]; I have never had a problem with the quality of a Keen shoe before, ane this one exception will not steer me away from buying other Keen shoes in the future.
