Purchased for my 3 yr. old son, he loves that they look like a fire boot. We are huge Keen fans, and I bought these specifically for the occasional snow that we get. They are a little stiff, and rubbed a little on his shin at first, but now he seems perfectly comfortable in them. I would definitely let your child try them out indoors first to make sure that the shin discomfort is ok before deciding to keep the boots.

This is the second pair I have bought for my 10yr old son. I love them and they are durable enough that my 8yr old is now wearing the first pair. There are only 2 issues I have. One, the zipper pulls on the first pair have both broken off (although that was after having them for over a year) and second, they can rub on the shin if the socks have slipped down. Other than that, I love them and will probably buy a third pair.

Our family loves Keen Shoes. We have gone thru several sizes and have had great success with their "summer" shoes. The idea and concept of these boots are great. However, when my boys tried them on, they found that they were immediately in pain. They weren't willing to even wear them for a minute to see if they were just a little stiff. I wish these boots were better - because kids do need a waterproof boot that is easy to take on and off!

These boots are for my 9 year old son he wears them to school and to play outside in the snow with them. They are very uncomfortable for him and rub against his shins. We tried them with fleece socks too and they are still painful, so we are returning them.
