Clark's is know for making comfortable shoes but generally not classic styles for work. I was excited when I saw these as they are a classic style so I purchased them. I have been disappointed with the comfort of the shoe. They are too big, much bigger than the stated size. I had to buy inserts to keep them from flipping off the back of my heel. I would recommend geting a size smaller thn usual. I purchased them in a wde and still the strap portion over the toe digs into my foot. Overall, the shoe is very pretty to look at, nice height heel but they are simply not comfortable and I have still not been able to get through a full day of work with them!

The first couple of times I wore this shoe, it rubbed really hard on the joint that connects the big toe to the foot and on the opposite side of my foot on the joint that connects my little toe to my foot. After I got the shoes wet on a rainy day, they stretched a little and now they don't rub my feet at all. I've gotten many compliments on them, too. I love the way they look, and they are still professional enough to wear to the office. They are great with slacks.

I have toe joint pain, and the front of this shoe cut directly into the joint, which is not the shoe's fault, but mine.
