I bought these shoes for work because they are a "non-skid" safety shoe. They are very comfortable, yet don't look like a "work" shoe. Can be worn for casual wear as well. I think they would also be good for seniors who are afraid of slipping on wet surfaces. Clean well also. If these shoes wear out, I would definitely buy another pair.
