This boot is comfortable and provides good support. However, the fact that it is a waterproof hiking boot should guarantee good grip on wet surfaces... Outsole is unacceptably slippery.

I was looking for a reasonably priced quality hiking boot to carry me through high passes (18,000 ft +) during expeditionary treks in remote regions of Nepal. At the lower elevations in Nepal I have always used Rockport "Prowalkers" which are comfortable and perfect (I have worn them for years) and I wanted to try this Rockport product at higher altitudes and for crossing passes. I am very pleased with this "Open Adventure" Rockport boot--lightweight, sturdy, comfortable and very reasonably priced for the quality and value of the product.
