This is a beautiful shoe and would be comfortable, but the air bubbles makes a noise with every step you take. If it was not for that I would say it is a high quality shoe. I had to send them back, as I had a different brand that made this noise and kept them, and everyone knew it was me because of the sound.

I have a narrow foot and fallen metatarsal arches , and it is difficult to find attractive, well-made shoes that fit and are comfortable. These shoes fill the bill on all counts.

I really like the way the San Mateo looks and fits. The problem is the air bubble interior tends to let your foot slip when it's least expected. I bought them for travel ... but I'm not so sure they will be right. Perhaps I need to break them in a little more. I've only worn them 6 to 8 times. Merrells usually feel right immediately.
