The heel was stiff at first but as you wear them it loosens up. After wearing them for about a month the left heel has started to squeek. It is very annoying. Since I love the shoe I am taking them to a shoe repair shop to see if they can fix that. I have a wide foot with a high instep and these shoes fit me very well. I have the black pair and I am considering buying the brown pair as well.

These shoes are great for my extra wide feet; however, there is one draw-back. The back of the shoe (above the heel) is high and tight. On the right shoe, this hits my ankle and makes it uncomfortable to walk any distance. Manually loosening the back of the shoe is helping a little.
