I own 6 pairs of very comfortable earth shoes (and one that is horribly uncomfortable) but these are my favorites. I purchased the white leather (not suede) ones and there was no break in period. I have near flat feet (small arch) so the moderate (not high) arch is perfect for me. I wear and bought a 9 but a 9.5 would have fit as well and maybe even better; I feel they run a tiny bit small Some people think they look like chef or nursing shoes but I think they look like "real" tennis shoes (not chunky clunky athletic shoes). They remind me of the original white classic leather keds but with a wide toe area, which I find to be funky and updated as opposed to the 80's type small toe box shoes.
