The Merrell Relay shoe is the best walking shoe for hot weather climate. I have 6 pairs of Merrell shoes and although these have a slightly less cushiony insole than other Merrell shoes, I never once felt pain when walking 12 hours a day on cobble stones, rocks and gravel in Croatia where the weather was at a constant 105 degree Fahrenheit during my trip.
The mesh fabric keeps your feel cool and dry, the hard tip protects your toes and the special rubber sole keeps you from sliding off slippery rocks. I am the worst klutz ever and can break an ankle walking on flat surfaces with flat shoes! So I was ecstatic when I realized I could climb wet beach pebbles without falling on my butt. I probably could have also worn them in the sea to protect my feet of sea urchins but I wasn’t sure if the salt would be good for the shoes or not.
You simply can’t go wrong with these. Note that when I first tried the shoes I was concerned that the strap wasn’t long enough to reach the Velcro but after 12 hours, the elastic on both sides released tension and the strap became a perfect length. About my feet, I have very high-arches – about 2” higher than my heels - that require flexible and cushiony soles. I was also able to fit my orthopedic insoles in the shoes for extra arch support.

Meets the close toed requirement for working in a laboratory. After breaking in for a week, the shoe feels great. Bought Keens and they felt great, but after 2 hrs my feet were HOT. These shoes do not have that problem at all. Nice and cool even when it is 100 outside.

Appealing to all ages. I bought two pairs for my self and one for my daughter.. Now, my granddaughter wants a pair.. Lots of compliments and comfort is great. I live at the beach, but also have a home in the mountains. Great shoe for both for the summer

I had tried these in a store and was sorry I didn't buy them. The shoes I bought instead turned out to be too hot for summer so I ordered these online. I haven't had them long enough to see how durable they are so, because of the unknowns, I didn't give them 5 stars. But, from what I can tell, I think I will be happy I have them.

I really like these shoes and would like them in several colors! The light suede toe did seem to collect dirt, but the blue is light so maybe the darker colors would better. My next pair I'll spray with Scotch Guard or something.
I wear this mostly for athletic purposes. I'm a figure skater with really narrow heels, so these shoes kind of have an average heel size, so the guy at the store had to add cork under the insole and now they fit perfectly! I wear these to jog around the ice rink, stretching, and they are so cute they look great shopping in! The greatest thing about these is if you get a stain on the suede, all you have to do is take a Pond's make-up pad remover and wipe it off (for most everyday stains it works!). I did get a blister from these shoes on the back of my heel, but that was because I liked them so much that I wore them all the time! I don't get blisters anymore because I figured how long for me that it takes to blister. I really love these shoes and I'd reccomend them to anyone who wants shoes that don't slip. The only bad side is that my rubber sole on the bottom of the shoe is wearing out in one place and I've only had them for a month. =(

These took a few days to break in. They actually caused blisters on the TOPS of both of my feet the first time I wore them. They quickly became comfortable within a few days. I agree with other reviewers that I wish they were a little more cushiony. After experimenting with different combinations, I ended up just replacing the insoles with ones with more padding. Now I can walk in them all day long. I pronate, so I really appreciate the support that they give. They are much cooler than tennis shoes.

Listed above. casual use all day , shopping . Summar fun. i look a little cutter and feel in style . I dont have to worry about them getting wet. After the gym I slip these on to relax. If I want to look ethnic or folks they fit the bill. Mostly casual.
I cannot go far on concrete on these as i need a thicker soul . And more back support. A tighter shoe,for on the feet for long periods.
But over all these are a lot of fun. thanks !

I love Merrells and these are fantastic shoes. They are much more stylish and youthful, in my opinion, than many of the Merrell styles. When I first put them on they felt like slippers, soft, but with lots of support. A+

I absolutely love these shoes! They are so comfy and supportive. I really wanted a pair of shoes that breathed and had good traction and these are them. I am going to Disney for a week in October and I don’t think I will have a problem walking for hours in these shoes. One note though, the first time I got them wet they did dye parts of my feet black (heel and toe area) but other then that they are great!

I love Merrells and I liked these Merrells except for the sticky footbed. It is a great color and they were comfortable and easy to get on and off but I returned them because I don't want to wear socks with this style. If I wore socks they felt better.

I have this shoe in another color and love it. It is so comfortable and great to wear with casual outfits. It is perfect when traveling, especially when you have to remove your shoes at the airport. It is lightweight and cool to wear in the summer

Such a comfortable shoe! I bought the olive which seems quite neutral. The shoes look great even with skirts -- very cute, and is super comfortable. They run half a size large so I'm going to exchange for 7.0. They are great for wider feet, making them seem more slender!
I'm glad I ordered a half size down. Usually wear 7.5 and ordered 7. They were just right. Very cute and comfortable.

This is a great shoe for warm weather wear and is suitable for business casual dress. Plus, when I them to work I don't need to change shoes for my lunchtime walk.
I also have small, narrow, hard-to-fit feet and these shoes needed no additional insoles or padding to make them fit comfortably.

I couldn't wait to get this shoe but the first time out walked about two miles. I ended up with blistered feet which I am still recovering from. Also, the strap stained a small red rectangle on the top of my foot which didn't wash off easily. I can't wait to wear these shoes again, but will try to soften up the edges before I attempt it.

These are the most comfortable pair of shoes I own. I can wear them for long periods of time without my feet feeling tired. There is also enough room in the shoe for my orthotics. Not only are they cute but they are functional as well. I am planning on buying at least 1 more pair!

This shoe is comfortable from the first time they are put on. They look good with shorts, pants and capris.
After 3 tries, I now have the size and color I was looking for in these cute and comfortable shoes. The run pretty large...I found them to be a full size off. But thanks to great customer service, I finally have a pair of these shoes!

Compared to all the other Merrells I own, these seem more narrow. They are a great alternative to flip flops, they breath well and are very light. Great for walking too.
Love these shoes! They are so comfortable! I wore out my first pair last year and I'm buying more this year. They go everywhere: travel; work; then to the beach and ocean. Wash 'em off and they are ready to go. Yes, they get sand and water in them because of the holes but that's the beauty of the shoes: they go everywhere.

I bought the shoes just before leaving on a trip to the Holy land. They were comfortable the first time I wore them. I was on my feet for hours each time I wore them and they were wonderful! It was really hot, but my feet stayed cool. They got really wet one night when I had to walk through a puddle but dried quickly and showed no signs of being soaked. I'm thinking of ordering a pair in another color!

Very comfortable. Good insole support and absorbs impact when walking. I have foot problems and these shoes feel great. However, they are not very good in the rain or wet terrain due to mesh exterior.

I brought this shoe to Europe this summer as a back-up shoe. I ended up wearing the Merrill Relay everyday because it was so comfortable!
It is my go-to shoe for comfort and travel and now I have purchased 2 more pairs from online shoes!!

I wore these shoes nearly all summer, which is why I got a second pair when the first pair was getting rather worn. They work well with pants or casual dresses/skirts. Did my midday walking at work in them and they were very comfortable.

This shoe is the most comfortable and supportive shoe EVER! I spend long hours on my feet, and for the first time (I used to wear tennis shoes) my back doesn't hurt from standing for long hours. Also, I first thought this shoe felt too big when I first got them, but after wearing them for long hours, my feet felt so comfortable and had room to expand.. Also, the mesh on this shoe is super-durable as well as makes the shoe so much more breathable so that you don't have to wear socks. And this shoe is super cute! Looks great with jeans or capris. Only thing to watch for is if you walk in grass or dirt, the mesh allows stuff to get inside the shoe, but this is a minor detail that can be easily remedied by taking off your shoe and dumping the dirt out - when you spend tons of time on your feet, having a shoe that is supportive as well as breathable is so important. Definitely a great travel shoe too - they walk like a tennis shoe, so they will be great for long walks/tours around town, and you still can look cute! They're so cute, I got two colors, the black and the antique orange.

I have other Merrell shoes and they fit perfectly and are great to wear. For some reason I couldn't find a size for this one that was right, even though I loved to look of the shoe.

I suffer from plantar fasciitis so finding comfortable shoes is absolutely critical for me. These shoes are fabulous, I can walk in comfort all day long. They are light, comfortable and have great arch support. I have bought extra pairs of the white and black so I can have them on hand when my current pairs wear out.
I know that arch support is very personal. The arch has to be in the right place on your foot. But, if you want a fun, light shoe with great support, give these a try. I sure hope they work for you.
You will note that I said they run a bit small. I normally wear a 10 1/2 in say a Munro, bought an 11 in these and they are just fine.

I am a practicing nephrologist and the Medical Director of a dialysis unit. I am on my feet more than twelve hours most days .The Relay Tour by Merrill has been a life-saver.I have never owned a more comfortable pair of shoes.The strap adjusts for a custom fit even on my very narrow feet.The traction soles offer stability and security on a waxed tile floor.I now own three pairs in green,white,and black. This is the perfect shoe, works with pants, works with skirts. I travel a lot and it is as comfortable treking through the airports as it is walking thorough parks. I liked it so much I bought the green, white and black.

I have only had these shoes for a couple of months. They are wearing well. Still look like when I took them out of the box.
