These Mary Janes are very comfortable and I get comments on them often. You would think that they are a little strange looking but, in fact, they are just strange enough to set them apart an grab peoples interest. Very comfortable shoes that can be worn with pants and dresses.

I really like this shoe, but felt the elastic strap across the in-step of my foot got too tight after the natural swelling of the day. I cut off that strap and love the feel and fit.

Just came back from walking in Italy for 2 weeks with these shoes and they were great. They look good with pants or skirts. With my high arch the elastic strap was tight at first, but loosened with use. However, it still exposed the rough velcro that that strap didn't cover, so my pants' hems were caught and unraveled. I put some other black velcro to cover it to help.

Super cute, but the first time I wore them for a short period, I got blisters on the backs of both heels. Also, I have a small narrow foot, and the elastic strap underneath the velcro one seemed to tight and like it would rub and be bothersome. Like other reviewers suggested, I cut it out and it fit perfect. I have since wore them with bandaids on my heels in hopes they just need a bit of breaking in, but other than that, super comfortable. They are much more narrow than other Keens.

These are pretty comfortable for everyday use. The toe box seems a little smaller than most Keens, and they can get a little hot after a full day at the zoo in the middle of July (but anything that isn't a flip flop would). They look a little more pulled together than tennis shoes, so nice for traveling, etc.

My extreme heel pain led to my diagnosis of plantar fasciitis in my left foot. I do stretches each morning and wear a foot wrap from the doctor. I wasted money on walking shoes and arch supports--with no relief. I'm on my feet 8+ hours a day at work and I like to walk and ride my bike, but standing all day was painful and walking for fun was out of the question. Just under a year ago, my sister, who also has plantar fasciitis, suggested I try Keens. I did! I've bought three pairs in the past year (black ones for work and fun colors for play). Now I no longer have to wear my foot brace--and I only wear Keens. I no longer have walking shoes, but wear Keens for hiking, bike riding, and at work. I live in rainy Vancouver, WA, and they are waterproof too. My only complaint is that the arches break down, and I can afford to buy them only when they are on sale. I wish my medical plan covered them because Keens really are therapeutic.

I love this shoe! I wear it with shorts, bermudas, and they are so much nicer looking than wearing sneakers. I have a narrow foot, but am able to get a great fit due to the elastic strap under the velcro mary jane strap. The inner liner takes a lot of stress off my feet when walking, but the liner does tend to stick to my bare feet.

These are my first Keens, and they are so comfortable, with or without socks. I have had problems in the past locating a shoe that doesn't tear up my ankles or give me immediate hot spots. Also, I'm impressed by the amount of toe room offered with this style of shoe...I have very long toes, and they hardly get a chance to breathe:( Past reviews I have read about this Keen said that the elastic band is bothersome. So far-no problem with it, but I ordered a size bigger than I normally do, an 11 (just in case: and it was a good idea). The Sweat Pea is a deeper green than it appears online...but So Happy!!!!!!!

The shoe is VERY comfortable to walk, but it required some patience for adaptation.
The top strap make the area a little bit red, but not a blister.
If you overcome that discomfort the first couple of times you use it, you will have a very comfortable shoe.

A cute shoe, but I have very high arches and a high instep, and it simply did not give me the arch support I need and cut into the top of my foot. The sole felt a bit "thin". I believe, did I not have the arch problem, the shoe would wear well, but with the sole feeling thin, I doubt it would be a good walking shoe. It is stylish enough to wear to work.

If you are a loyal Keen customer (I have 9 pr. Keens), this may not be the shoe for you! It is about one inch narrower than all my other Keen styles. Even with the very tight elastic cut, this shoe would be far too narrow for me. I'm returning the shoe--sadly, because it's quite cute.

I now own 3 pair of Keen maryjanes (2 Amsterdam-Black &Coffee Liquer & Barcelona in Moonstone) and I LOVE THEM ALL!!!! I believe the Keen Co. definitely heard the hue & cry of their customers re:the
elastic band that's under the adjustable strap--AND they lengthened it, YAY! THe Black Amsterdams(that I bought) were the original design and that strap was a bit snug and could cause a sore spot on the top of my foot after 8+hrs(until they were stretched out or "broken in"--after a couple of wearings). The Coffee Liquer is a new color and they have given a nice generous length of elastic, voila! problem solved. Love the Coffee Liquer color, nice neutral warm tan--goes w/everything!! Oh and my yorkie accidentally peed on the top of the shoe (an over excited greeting, lol)-I immediately blotted w/paper towel and no stain or odor left!! :)

Wonderful shoe, I own 3 pair of Keens, 2 of them in the Amsterdam style. Very comfortable from the 1st moment I put them on. The elastic strap under the velcro strap does pinch and cause soreness on the top of my foot--this seems to dissipate with wearing(breaking in time?) I have read reviews from others on this shoe and they just clipped the elastic and all was fine, it would not be a problem to do this as you still have the adjustable velcro strap and it covers the area. I do have a high arch, and these shoes give me great support in that area (and that may be why I have the problem w/the elastic).

I really like these shoes. The one problem I had with them was easy to solve~ they come with a very tight elastic strap that is under the velcro strap. I simply cut the elastic off. I don't see why it's there, anyway, and the shoes were instantly 10 times more comfortable. I have a very high arch, so maybe for me, it was more of an issue. Now I wear them to shop, work (I'm a hairdresser and have given in to comfort over high style these days), and they'd be a great travel shoe. It's winter now, and I've even been wearing them with warm socks, and people comment on how cute they look.

This shoe is a very comfortable casual shoe. I wear it with slacks and casual skirts. There is a elastic band under the strap across the instep. I'm guessing some folks will find the shoe too narrow as it fits me perfectly and I have a narrow foot. Heel is nicely padded, ball-of-foot has very little padding (you feel the road). I love it.

I have worn this shoe for hours on end and it has been great for light walking. The shoe is very light, stylish and functional. I have been very pleased with the shoe and would certainly consider another pair in a different color. Several friends have purchased them based on how much I have liked them.
My only con is the strap across the top is a bit tight at the start (the band under the strap is elastic. I almost cut it but let it stretch out instead.

I am very happy with my Keen Amsterdams. I walk to work and needed a shoe that I could walk to work and then wear all day. These fit my needs perfectly. They are very comfortable to walk in and they look nice as a casual work shoe. I wear them on the weekend, too. I am planning on buying another pair in another color. The only problem that I have is that I need more arch support. But I have really high arches and can easily replace the insole. A great shoe! I highly recommend them!

I bought this based on others reviews, as many shoes are too wide for me. Reviews stated that the shoe ran narrow, and it fits perfect. [...]

This is my second pair of Keen Amsterdams, and I love the way they feel and look. I can wear them all day long and my feet never hurt. When I wear them in public I have to keep checking my feet to see if I'm wearing my slippers!

These are wonderful shoes - I took the advice of some of the other reviewers and cut off the elastic strap under the velcro strap - it made a world of difference, and I would now describe the shoes as feeling great, as well as looking great. These have a lower profile than some of the other Keens I've tried; some of them are too clunky for my taste, but these are edgy and fun.
These are the most comfortable shoes!
