Being a comfort driven person makes finding a "dress" shoe difficult. This is the perfect "little black shoe." I always wear 1/2 size up in a Born. Probably just me. I purchased my shoes on sale, but I think I would prefer non-patent for durability, although the patent gets a lot of "cute" comments! It's hard to beat Born. Always comfortable at the first try!
Born Carlisle is a super cute and comfortable shoe. The only downfall is that it runs 1/2 large and is quite narrow. The sole of my foot looked smooshed together after the first wear around the house. They didn't work for me even though I really like them. I tried 2 sizes. Very cute design and great to wear for casual. I kinda think my foot looks really big in this shoe and I don't usually think my feet look abnormally long...must be because it runs large...but if you size down, it will be too small. So, I returned them sadly and will miss not being able to wear this shoe....I see people wearing them and think how cute they are! I still rate them high. I think most people love them.
i've worn these with jeans and skirts and these shoes (bought them in red) look great! i love born shoes, and these are a great addition to the line. feet were a bit tired at the end of the first day, but that's to be expected after wearing them for ~8 hours!
I read all of the reviews posted and ordered the shoes. I also found that the shoes may run a half size smaller. If you are a size 7 and want a little extra room in your shoe or would like to wear socks I would recommend getting a half size larger.
I also noticed upon wearing white socks that the shoes stained the socks red on the top (from the strap) and all over the bottom. I hope it comes out. I wore some other non-white socks and the same thing happened, but there wasn't as much staining.
In terms of comfort... After wearing the shoes for 4 days I still feel like they need to be broken in. The backs of my heels are tender by my achilles and in some other spots on top of my feet.
I like that the shoes are cute and light weight.
Like wearing a shoe I've had for years the first time I wore them.
I understand from several co-workers that Born shoes are made to be very comfortable. First I ordered my true shoe size which is a size 5. The shoes arrived, they were too small. [...] I was concerned about the free shipping knowing it is available only on exchanges. [...] Unfortunately, when the next shipment arrived, they were too big.[...] Although I did not get the shoes I wanted, I will continue to look for shoes from their website. I shop online frequently [...]Thank you for a very positive experience. Sincerely, Linda
I have only worn them twice, so they still need to be broken in. They are extremely cute and have great support. They are not like ballerina flats which do not have any support at all. The last time I wore them they started hurting my feet after about 5 or 6 hours of wearing them.

Great quality shoe for casual wear. Goes great with jeans.
These shoes run smaller than the Born Scotti. The Scottis were comfortable from day 1 and required no break-in time, but the Carlise is still breaking in after having been worn 3 or 4 times. It's very cute but isn't comfortable yet.
i have wide feet and it's hard to find shoes to fit...i also stand on my feet for more than 8 hours and most shoes hurt my feet or make my back hurt..these are really comfortable they have a thick insole which makes it feel like your walking on a cushy carpet. they need at least one day to break in but after that they are soooooooo good. hope you love them like i do.
Very comfortable shoe no breaking in time, feet friendly !
