I was surprised at the heel difference in Earth shoes. They are different feeling, but very comfortable. I think these would be very nice when traveling on an airplane. My wife would call it "squiggle" room, if your feet tend to swell a bit when flying. It's a nice change from my running or basketball shoes that I normally wear.
