Shoe fit great, my second pair of keen owned but will not buy the mesh again. Stitching started to come apart where mesh meets leather around the toe area. Happened within the 3rd or 4th week of owning them and now they are shot. Shoes are ONLY used for work and are not used hard. I'm behind my desk 60% of the time and the other 40% on pavement.
i wear these shoes the second i get home from work. they are great for play or going out in the evenings.
I was first introduced to Keen by my fellow parole officers. They like it because they were comfortable, stylish, and practical. In our work, we walk a lot and visit a lot of different environments.Keen shoes have withstand a lot of abuse and i really like by Briggs Mesh.
I am happy with what i bought and would recommend all Keen products to everyone. It's groovy!
Within 2 weeks after receipt the mesh on the left show had parted company with the stitching. I wore these shoes approximately every third day to my office. I wasn't hiking, biking, kayaking, or otherwise enjoying myself. Just trying to look busy at the office. Love all my other Keens. Quite disappointed in these. My boss complimented me on them though (before they were obviously falling apart).
[...] my Briggs Mesh began to fray at the binding with the leather. [...] I have other Keen shoes of similar design without the problem. I was disappointed [...] great shoe with a widely recognized design flaw. Size issues were addressed using an athletic shoe insert/orthotic.
I'm a high school shop teacher- on my feet, moving fast, doing repetitive tasks, all day. I bought these shoes because my first pair of the similar "Bronx" shoe were incredible. They lasted for two years of daily wear with minimal breakdown. I NEVER experienced any discomfort in my feet or anywhere else as a result of wearing these shoes. The arch support is great for me- I have moderate arches and pronate. I rate these higher than Mephisto and Ecco for all day comfort, and that's saying something! This new pair is just as good as the last ones.
I bought for my husband who works on hard concrete floor as a Engineer. He said his feet never get tired. He likes it so much that he is asking me to get in different color. Only concern is that the material on the side of shoes start to fray soon after. My husband said he still loves these shoes. He removed the fray by burning with lighter.... I do not know if you want to take this advice....
I have been a loyal Keen buyer for a couple years now, having purchased over 20 pairs for myself and gifts for friends and family. I think they make the most comfortable yet functional shoes around, while still maintaining great style. The Briggs Mesh follows suit and gets me a number of compliments. However, the mesh siding starts to fray quickly, from bumping things or even just contact with the other foot. The traction on these things is superb, typical of all Keen's shoes. Therefore, they are perfect for outdoor/street use, but perhaps not so much for indoors, where waxed floors can make for loud squeaking!
The shoe Pinched right above my Large Toe the first couple of times I wore this Shoe. However it has now broken in and is at a comfort level for everyday wear.
Normally, my Keen shoes have worn well, but this model ripped out within days of my first wearing. They are now useless except as painting shoes.
The clothe scuffs
I enjoy all products by Keen. Their shoes are well made and very comfortable. I wear out after a day of teaching middle-schoolers long before my feet do.
I have been wearing this shoe for two months now. I walk 2 miles to work every day (by choice) so a comfortable walk is desired. Briggs Mesh 2006 by Keen delivers the comfort I want. This shoe is very sturdy yet light weight. Arch support is great. The shoe itself is holding up well and I say that being someone who tends to be hard on their shoes. I also had a chance to test it out hiking in the mountains of Colorado. Traction was great and again the shoe looked like new after several days of hiking (just a little dusty).
The shoe is comfortable, but the laces are those types of laces that have little grip -- so they come untied often. Worse, though is that the stitching starts to 'fuzz' off. Long before the shoe wears out, I have to clip or shave what almost looks like hair growing out of the stiching areas, sides, and any non-leather areas of the shoe. It's really kind of weird.
