I first bought a half size smaller for my husband, who is a teacher and needed good shoes to stand in all day, but they were slightly too big. I did this because others suggested they were slightly small. He said they're like walking on clouds and I think he's going to wear them daily.
This is a nice shoe but the instep is low, lower than other slip on Merrells I've had. It could be that there is less elastic around the flexible part of the leather upper. I am hoping they stretch with use. Otherwise, the shoe is very nice and nice looking.

Most comfortable and stylish buisness shoes I have ever worn. These are the only shoes I own, where I do not need to wear shoe inserts with them. I have the redwood color, which simply looks amazing. Every now and then someone stops me asking where they can get a pair. They are very durable, the things on the bottom that give you grip do not wear out easily like most shoes do. I would definately buy these again.
I bought this shoe the same size as my Merrill world passport, which fits great. The guru was much more narrow and very tight in the instep. I had to return it.
I have a pair of these in black and peat moss. They go great with khakis and jeans which is what I wear all the time. Very comfortable and can be worn all day long. Good cushioning and support. I wish they offered a weatherproof/waterproof version of them so I could wear them when it rains. Otherwise, it's an excellent urban walking shoe.
These Merrells will be worn to work, as well as to social events.
The quality and comfort of Merrells cannot be beat. Even tho, these are not "walking shoes", they can be used as such because of their
design and construction.

I had bought the World Passport and it fit great. The Guru is significantly smaller, mainly in the instep. It's hard to get on and tight in the instep once it's on. Could be a very good shoe if it fit like the World Passport from Merrell

At first these shoes caused some pain on the ball of my left foot but after a while, the shoes were fine. My main complaint is that the stitching/sealant in front of the shoes is questionable -- my feet got wet in a light rain! I couldn't believe that so much water seeped into these shoes. It's quite disappointing to know that I can only use these shoes when I know it's going to be completely dry out.
This is a great shoe. Very comfortable with no foot pain. I have found very few shoes that wear as good and does not wear so quickly.

I have odd feet - 14 1/2" and 14 (both EE) so I have a heck of a time finding a good match on shoes. I usually order 15 D's and wear heavier socks to compensate - but the Guru is built on a whole different form factor than any shoe I've worn.
I got mojo compliments on the looks from the several folks who saw me wear them around briefly - but looks are subjective. The toe space is squared off (rather than rounded) in a roomy way that I loved the feel of, but didn't like the looks of - looking straight down at them reminded me of ducks feet.
My main concern though, is the lack of padding in the heel and instep areas, and the very low cut heel - these are definitely in the "moc" category.
The Peat Moss brushed leather is on the edge of what I'd call "business casual" - they have an earthy, sustainable lifestyle look that would be out of place with anything but jeans, khakis or similar... (although they do come in "business casual" cherry, or "see the magistrate" black).
One thing I've noticed about any Merrell I've tried on is that they are hard to get on - these mocs were no exception - it's shoehorn, tug, then "pop" the shoe is on. They are of heavy, quality build though, so I suspect some time would smooth that over.
They weren't right for me, but after seeing the build quality - I'm going to try another higher cut "business casual" or "dress" Merrells. The Merrell Chameleons I'm wearing right now are the definition of comfortable...

I love this shoe. It is very comfortable, like walking on two nice soft pillows. I'm spoiled for lace-ups now too. The slips-ons shoes are very handy, and this particular type is more comfortable than other Merrell slip-ons, which I also really liked.
