No, I would not recommend this to a friend
This shoe would have fit, but the strap that goes across the toes is WAY too wide - not in proportion to the rest of the shoe. I could literally fit two fingers in between the strap and my toes. I had to return them because my feet just slid forward, right out of them. Otherwise, they would have been perfect :-(
