Wish it was a couple of inches taller--hits at an odd place on my calf. And it does scuff easily.
But reliably Merrell comfort to walk and stand.
Really dissapointed in the size. The shoe fit great but the calf was way too big, and while my legs are on the thin side, they are far from skinny. Will be sending them back.
From the first moment of pulling them on there was much difficulty... but that didn't discourage me until my foot was completely in. The boot was much tighter than had expected.. my toes were at the tip and I had thin socks on. The most unacceptable feature of this book was where the boot hits the top part of your foot... it kills! I had these on in my apartment for 3 minutes and couldn't stand one more minute. The leather was extremely stiff and the color changed the moment you creased your ankle. Very disappointed.. along with these boots bought another pair of Merrells (snow) and they felt like butter! I will most definitely be exchanging these!
If you want a stylish boot that can take a punch this is the boot for you. Have all the advantages of Merrell's expertise in designing hiking boots without looking like you are going hiking.
These are what I was looking for in a boot, comfy and yet stylish with jeans or a cordurouy or denim skirt. Felt good possibly just a slightly wider at heel but still fit, ( I have narrow heel but wider at toe area). Great for problem feet if needing a wider toe area. I am on my feet all day long, can't wait to try them out in fall.
I love my new boots, they're adorable and my feet feel great after a hard day. If I had one complaint it would be that the toe area is stiff and presses uncomfortably against my instep, but this has eased considerably as I break them in.
I'm returning these, though they're very comfortable. My problem is that they 1) highlight the size 10-ness of my feet, 2) look too much like rainboots, with some little doo-dads sewn on, and 3) don't have a wide enough calf to tuck my pants in on rainy days.
I bought these shoes at the same time as the Merrell Spire Peak boots, and all my core comments about that boot apply to this one, as well. To summarize: they're great. Perfect for walking and relatively warm, plus they're cute enough to earn compliments. Two minor complaints: that the word "waterproof" is embossed on the outside (especially when they're not particularly waterproof) and that the cherry brown leather scuffs mighty easily. Otherwise, love them and the button-strap detail on the back of the shaft. Note: Shaft does run a little big, but fortunately, it's not too noticeable on me.
Got these and wore them every day for a week. Not because they needed to be broken in (they don't) but because I love the fit and look. I find myself deciding what to wear around whether the outfit will allow me to wear these boots!
I wear these boots everywhere, to work, to school, out with my friends, in the rain, with skirts, with pants. They are very versatile.
I love these boots so much that I have them in brown and black. I have other boots, but I tend to almost always wear a pair of the Merrells because they are so darn comfortable. And being waterproof and cute are bonuses too!
These boots have solved my never ending search for a comfortable pair of boots for winter. They came pretreated, so on the first sign of snow, I sloshed through snow and puddles for a test run. Yes, they're very much waterproof! Any salt or stain can be wiped off with a damp towel. Overall, these are versatile boots and stylish enough to wear with dresses/skirt for a rugged casual look. I swore to refrain from UGGs and are very happy with these Merrells!
These boots are adorable! They are extremely comfortable as well. My only con is that the material seems to etch easily...is it leather? if so, there must be a coating of sorts on it that etches...but I really do love them regardless!
These are very cute boots and overall comfortable, EXCEPT if you have wide calves. Beware, these puppies are tight and narrow along the leg and the only way I can wear them is if I don't zip them up all the way (otherwise they cut off my circulation).
these were cute, but very stiff. i thought they would be softer. i don't have the smallest calfs, i suppose average.. had to send these back because they didn't fit in the calfs.
These boots are so versatile! I live in the mountains and they are warm, comfortable and sensible, but still really cute. I wear them with jeans and just bought a few dresses to wear with the boots and tights. It's nice to walk around in the snow and ice and not be nervous about falling on my butt all the time.
Under jeans, with a trendy skirt at the office or sloshing through puddles - this boot does it all. A solid buy and a can't miss. These are my first Merrell's, and my only disappointment is the interior sole doesn't have the arch support I thought it would. Don't let that steer you away from these boots however - you will be able to handle your day with you feet in these Merrells.
I have a narrow foot and this boot fits perfect. It is very comfortable. It is a little wide in the calf. I do have thin legs and then again I wear them under pants and long skirts so it is not an issue

I own a pair both the brown and black of these Tetra Merrel boots. They are perfect for a Minnesota office worker.
I trudge through the snow to get to the office and my feet stay comfortable, warm, and dry. And I keep them on at the office. These boots are classy enough to wear under pants or with long skirts, keeping me perfectly within our business casual dress code.
Wish it was an inch or two higher on the calf but it's a good looking boot and very comfortable.
Love these boots! I'm not a fat girl, but haven't been able to wear boots since I was 12! With a bit of pull on the zipper, these fit fine. The Polartec is a nice touch.
I have 3 other pairs of Merrell boots and I love them all!
I have wide, pain-prone feet and thick calves (a bit more than 16" at their widest) This made finding a warm, flat boot that was also cute something of a pain. These were about twice what I had planned on paying, but these are the first boots I've found that fit my feet comfortably and weren't ugly as sin.
Like two of the other reviewers, I live in Chicago and maybe this is why the aesthetic really appeals to me--Midwestern practicality meets urban flair. They're tough but cute, classic yet set apart from the crowd via the asymmetric buttons. Above all, this is a boot that will keep your feet dry as you traverse puddles, ice and snow. I went with the cherry brown, a rich reddish brown true to the picture.
I haven't had them long, but love them so far. Having spent more than usual on them, I'd counted on Merrell living up to its reputation and lasting awhile and indeed, the boots seem durable--although yes, prone to scuffing. They're lined with Polartec which makes them warm without being bulky. They fit a just slightly narrow on my wide foot, but I think they should wear in fine. My only complaint is that the ankle fits a little loose, but this may be due to the funny shape of my foot (wide at the top, normal in the heel).
As for the size, I think people with a wide-ish foot might want to consider going at least a half-size up. I generally wear an 8.5W or 9M. I first bought these in 9 and while they fit, it was a bit snug on my foot and calf and my big toe was pretty high. I returned them for the 9.5 and it is much better. There seemed to be about a quarter inch extra in the calf too, which made for easier zipping there.
Even with semi thick socks, I had a hard time putting these on the first time, and they are a bit tight on me toes.
These are the perfect boots for autumn (haven't hit winter yet so can't comment!). I wear them with dresses and pants - even to work (I am a database administrator in a financial services organization) - I can go from work to taking a break to walk on the nearby trail without missing a beat. They are waterproof, and so, so comfortable!!
The only thing I do not like about this product is that a taller snow boot should have plenty of calf room. Roomy or a little give is important when you have to be out long and be able to move but stay warm and dry. However these are some of the most comfortable and nicest LOOKING real performance waterproof snow boots I have personally ever tried!! I am not surprised as Merrell usually delivers. I hope this helps!!
These are easy boots to wear in almost any terra or weather. I got them primarily as "walking the dogs in the rain" boots, however, they are cute and sassy enough to wear with any ensemble.
They are very light and very comfy. The cushioning is great- I've had other boots that are heavy and clunky, but not these!
In Chicago you need a boot like this.? It has everything.? Fashionable, warm, and will stand up to the elements.? It looks cute with jeans folded up, a skirt, or a dress.? So comfortable the first time I put them on.? I had to struggle a bit to get the zipper all the way up the first time on my 15" calves, but it did go all the way up.? I think it will be easier every time.? Great value for what you get.
They are really comfortable and nice boots. Merrell did it! [...] I am happy with these boots!!!
I bought these to wear on a recent trip to Europe, and I couldn't have made a better choice. I ended up wearing them almost everyday over my walking shoes, because these were more comfortable, and waterproof!
These are Awesome boots! I needed something to wear to work, out to play and in the rain and snow, and this is it! They fit true to size. I am a true 10 and usually need a 10.5- but these are dead on perfect. Bring on the snow!
This boot might not knock your socks of ONLY because it's too busy keeping them toasty-warm and spoiled.I highly rate these boots!Merrell has done it once again.
I was very happy with these boots! They feel like tennis shoes, but look so stylish! They are great with skirts and dresses from casual to work to going out. The color is particularly nice too, it's a cherry brown that works as a brown, a plum, or a burgundy. Can't beat them for the price!
Merrell makes some of the best shoes I ever worn. Sometimes I have to look for a style that I like but this year's fall collection is cute. My insoles fit really well in them. The only other shoe I like to wear is Noat.
