I love these boots. I have them in black and this year the Espresso are the only thing on my Christmas List. I wore mine all last winter and this fall, they still look great. I wear them in snow and rain, they keep my feet toasty and dry. My ONLY complaint is that they are cut pretty large in the leg, I guess so they will fit everyone. I have pretty slender calves, so I have a ton of room, even with jeans tucked in, I have a gap. They'd be cuter with skirts if they were slightly more fitted in the leg, but I can deal with this one minor inconvenience!

This boot is not the cutest I have owned, but I didn't buy it to be stylish- I really needed a good work boot as I am on my feet waiting tables for 40 hours per week. My goal was to have something that could stand the test of the many miles I put on, that would also be comfortable and easy to clean. Considering this boot meets that criteria- I am quite satisfied with the way it looks.
More importantly, this boot absorbs shock and I can tell- my knees and back don't hurt as much. It has good traction as well. I have added Dr. Scholl's inserts- but the design of the boot itself combined with them makes it so my feet don't hurt anymore after work- it's amazing! :-)
Others said the boots were tight in the calves, but I feel like I have pretty big calves compared to others of a healthy weight and they fit perfectly. My only criticism is that I fear they may wear out quickly, as the leather is starting to sag and bunch up around my ankles. However, that might just be happening because I do have kind of small ankles.
All in all a good investment.

This boot is very comfortable. The heel is high enough not to feel like a flat, but the comfort level is like you are wearing a tennis shoe. I walked all over San Francisco and my feet felt great.

This is my fourth pair of shoes by Merrell, and I love every single pair. The shoes are very comfortable, and far more stylish and less bulky than my Merrell waterproof Mocs. I purchased them near the end of winter, so they haven't been tested through a lot of snow and much, but so far I love them.

Love this boot so much! Comfortable from the start, wide enough in the calf, waterproof, and yet still good looking. Form follows function for a change! Works on a long walk in the woods on a wet winter day or with black tights and a short skirt. So good.

I hate to take them off. They are everything I'd want my boots to be: handsome, simple, smart, sturdy, and comfortable. I'm glad I finally bought this particular boot. I've looked at these for over a year and wondered if they were as good as they seemed. They are. They are elegant and smart but mostly they're so easy to wear.

I never write reviews, but I have been searching for a CUTE, comfortable, pair of tall black boots with a small enough top. All the ones that i have tried on have huge calf tops. I have finally found the perfect boot!! Merrell........THANK YOU SO MUCH!! :-)

I wear these boots almost everyday. I work as a professional at a zoo, so I need to be able to look professional while at the same time have a functional pair of boots. These boots fit the bill. I can wear them with either a skirt or pants, they are extremely comfortable for walking and because they are waterproof, I can get them covered with mud (something that happens quite a lot in my job) and they come clean like a dream.

I ordred these boots but my calfes are so big that I cannot zip them up. So am have no choice but to send them back :(
These are the boots I've always wanted. They zipped up easily, and I have bigger calves; usually buy extended calf. They are very comfy and quite stylish.

I have been in search of the ultimate pair of boots for many years. Merrell has finally come through for me with a boot that is: (1) not too wide around the calf, but wide enough for my foot, (2) so comfortable I can wear them all day without any trouble or pain, (3) stylish enough to wear with skirts at the office, (4) a little cushion in every step, (5) tall enough to not cut my calf in half, (6) practical enough to wear in the snow, and (7) the list goes on, but my space is limited. The Plaza Peak did not let me down as so many others before have. This is the ultimate boot for me. I must clarify that I usually do not go the extra step to take a minute of my precious time to write a review, but this boot soars above the others!

this boot is soooo comfy and is a perfect fit--the balance of these boots are wonderful. i first bought the black and then realized i had to have the brown also, cuz i just couldn't find another boot i liked better. i am very picky about the comfort AND looks of what i put on my feet, and these i have to say are perfect...
Great looking winter boot. It is very hard to find a waterproof boot that still looks good, I am very pleased with these boots. They are very comfortable, although a bit wide in the calf.

A great, stylish, comfortable boot that is waterproof and lined with a thin microfleece liner, both of which make it great in the cold and wet. The sole is rugged and has a good grip. I like the Merrell footbed because it is supportive. With this boot you get the benefits of a sporty boot without looking like you put your kid's snow boots on. My calves are on the thinner side and these boots did gape at the top, even with jeans tucked in. Although I usually don't like boots that are that wide, in the end it didn't stop me from keeping these. I am happy I did.
These boots are terrific. They're extremely comfortable. The sole has a springy feel to it, offers good support, and really grips the ground. They're lined with Polartec fabric, so they're extremely warm. AND they're waterproof! They look urban-hip, and are dressy enough to wear to the office or to a play, but casual enough to pair with jeans. We're traveling to Paris in January. Normally I'd have to take several different pairs of shoes: walking shoes, dress shoes, rainboots. But these boots do it all. No breaking in needed. Love them!

These boots are stylish and warm at the same time...they kept my feet warm and dry in some very wet long grass. Others complained of their feet being cold and wet...my tootsies were warm & dry...
They seemed to run slightly big, but I just need some thick socks to fix that. Also, I will be purchasing some Dr. Scholls inserts since I stand on my feet for 8 hours at a time...they are comfortable, but inserts would only add more "cush"

I love this boot. It looks great with skirts, yet it is comfortable and if you get caught in the rain or snow, it's no biggie! It seems to run true to size, though I thought it was a little stiff on the ankles, but I am sure after a couple of times out they will soften nicely!

These are the boots that I've always wanted. They are rugged, and can handle the snow, ice and rain. The soles are like hiking boots and are very supportive. The boots are also quite appealing to look at. I wear these boots during all kinds of occaisons from hiking to dinner parties. I love them! I definately would recommend them to anyone interested in owning a unique, solid and comfortable fitting boot.
