Like most Docs, a bit stiff until they're broken in so band aids on your heels might be needed.

While all my other Docs are one size (I wear a 7 1/2 but always order a women's 7) but these were a bit tight. I bought the next size up (8) and they fit perfectly - so if you're a half size, you'll probably want to go up.

Width - this is a tough one. I want to say this style feels more narrow than previous Docs I've worn, but I think it's more a case of my own foot has become wider (due to pregnancy). The larger 8's do accommodate my wide feet, but feel more snug through the ball of the foot than older pairs. This could simply be that my older pairs are well worn while this new pair is not, or could be that this style really isn't as wide as older ones.

They're a nice option when you want a dressier boot. And while this is my first pair that zip up, it's much faster than lacing up every time. All in all, a nice pair of boots.
