terrific shoe; comfortable right out of the box. Rainbuck is natural leather so you must get non silicone spray to protect it or Mephisto's own neutral leather cream. Mink oil will darken.

These boots are Mephisto quality comfort. Break in period is short and the leather, if cared for, should last you decades. You get what you pay for and these are worth every penny! A man once told me that he would rather pay $100 for a used pair of Mephistos [...] than pay $100 for ANY brand NEW shoes anywhere else! Of course, new Mephisto is the best of both worlds!For winter or heavy hiking boots, there is none better to be found than Mephisto Allrounder Como. These are recommended by a group that takes tourists to Antartica. They are made of the finest leather and were made, a few years back, by hand, before Allrounder for Mephisto went fully automated. Difficult to find (it took me 3 years, but I found a pair in Germany by searching on line!) but worth the effort.
