My first pair lastest 12 years of occassional wear, almost every day for the last 3 years
this is an awesome shoe. they are very comfortable once broken into; and look great. i wear them eveywhere.
I love Doc's. but hey take a long time to break in. Once they do, they are a great shoe for many years, and stay in style.
[...]Dr. Marten's shoes aren't what they used to be. Thought I'd take a chance on a pair no longer made in the UK, but in China. Bottom line is that I got burned. Leather quality was not a good, nor as thick (gerbil skin?). Sizing didn't seem to match my past UK pairs as well (too small in the heel area). They rubbed one foot raw. Soles seemed more plasticy now (as opposed to rubbery) and one squeaked like I was constantly walking on a wet gym floor. After wearing them a week, couldn't take it anymore...[...] Note to Dr. Martens shoes, I'd gladly pay [$] for a good pair of Ole UK specials than [$]for this sub par Chinese quality. Maybe you need to go back and watch some Young Ones reruns just to remind you where you came from.
