The high quality boot leather is EXTREMELY STIFF when you first recieve them. They take a SOLID 2 weeks of daily wear to break in. After the initial break in period you will have a rugged long lasting boot that you can wear for hours every day but feels very similiar to a well worn high top sneaker. Extremely forgiving on legs and back in my experience. My first pair lasted 5 YEARS of heavy use. Buy them, break them in, and enjoy something for years that flies in the face of our throw away society. Thank you for not selling out Dr. Martens!

The pair I received didn't look like the ones in the photo - the toe is rounder and the finish of the leather is duller. Also, there is a hotspot where the tongue is sewn to the upper. I'm a little disappointed with these boots.

I've worn my boots at work 2 days and have received at least 3-4 compliments. I love the color since it goes so well with jeans, khakis and other type of pants. Great boots!

I purchased these because I missed having a pair of boots to wear, and did not have anything in the way of stylish footware. These shoes look great, and are comfortable to wear for a few hours, at first. However, there is a break in time for his shoes, during this time, wearing thick socks is very important for extra cushioning. Indeed, wearing thick socks when wearing a pair of boots is a good idea anyway. I would not recommend these boots as work boots, since the leather feels a bit too thin, but for casual or stylish wearing, these boots are recommended.
Also, these boots tend to trap in the heat from your feet, if you live in a warm climate (say the N. American Southwest) where there is an intense sun and heat, wearing these boots during the day may not prove to be wise. The good news is, during cold weather, this case would actually be a pro.

I disagree that this isn't a work boot! I work a tough and dirty landscape construction job (heavy equipment,digging in the dirt,stonework,etc) and it wasn't until I got a pair of green Docs that I found a shoe in which I could be comfortable all day. Granted they aren't steel toe, but they last forever and take a genuine beating and keep going. I would definitely recommend these to workers and people just looking for something INCREDIBLY comfortable to wear around. Plus my folks are in their 70's and wear them - they make anybody just a little cooler!

I use this as a work boot. Having broken my ankle badly 2 years ago I've suffered 2 years, unable to find a proper shoe for the work day. This shoe actually feels corrective, forcing me to walk correctly (a problem ever since my fracture shoe came off). Keeps the ankle secure & it's not heavy. The Air Ware bounce sole reduces fatigue. This boot is more comfortable than the work shoes I suffered with for 2 years. Buy with confidence!
