These docs are great, and feel a lot more stable than my 1460. I feel the security and stability probably due to the extra shoe lace holes and overall height of the boot, but I love 'em! I find the docs comfortable, warm, pretty water resistant but haven't dunked my foot in a pool, conservative and casual for certain occasions. I would recommend these to a friend and have already gotten one of my friends to purchase a pair.
Haven't had them long so I can't vouch for durability but they are very comfortable. Sole is flexible and light enough even though it's pretty thick. Leather is as soft as butter, no breaking in required. One con is that they run large. The uk 10 is not the same as most us 11's. I had to exchange mine, even laced up as tight as possible they still slid around on my feet. They were at least a 1/2 size too big.
DM's, as a brand, are the only footwear that I have ever worn that are perfectly comfortable for all day wear right out of the box. At best, one day of good wear works out the slightest of "kinks." And this particular boot by a landslide takes the gold medal for comfort. I was shocked. The leather is like butter. That's my $0.02.
Wish I there were half sizes, had to order a 12 because I am an 11W. Boot is longer that my foot but I adapt. I've worn Doc's for years and this is the first time I tried soft leather. What a difference, no break in period whatsoever! I can barely feel them on my feet. No ankle chafing or crushed foot feeling. I like the black stiching instead of the yellow. We will see how long they last!

the first week i had these shoes i noticed the the sole splitting from the bottom of the shoe. now it's about half way off and i can stick my finger in between to feel the bottom of my foot. *Nifty*... they also look a little different than the photo online. the leather is more dull, with a matte finnish. they are made in china, and they look as such. cheap is the only word to describe.
