No, I would not recommend this to a friend
I currently own 5 pair of Dr. Martens boots and shoes and have loved them all, but this pair of boots left something to be desired. When I got them out of the box they just looked cheap. Upon further inspection the leather uppers seemed thin and then I noticed the Made in China label. Anyway, the moral of the story is spend the extra $50 and get the "classic" range with actual quality leather, That's what I did, and I love my 6th pair of DMs. Made In England!
