I liked the way these looked and had previous good experiences with both the Born Stanley and Born Gilbert - well built, confortable shoes that took a beating. So I got these (in Black) and tried them on - first try-on the strap broke on the left boot. I hardly even pulled on the strap to have it break - further analysis of the strap showed very weak leather material that was either badly manufactured (under stitched) or a design flaw. I thought of repairing them myself but this is something that should not happen right out of the box - 1000 or more pull-ons down the road, maybe...

I returned these for a refund. As much as I admire Born shoe products, I would be hard pressed to get another boot by them.

This is a great boot. Born makes a good product and this is another fine example. Boots are comfortable out of the box with no break in. I usually wear orthodics in my boots, but not necessary with these. Born foot beds take a little getting used to but have found that they are very very comfortable, definitely an all day shoe with no problems. Construction is good, as this is a casual boot and not a work boot it does the job. I have had many Born shoes and all have lasted well.
