I really like Red Wing products. I thought the boot part was excellent. The leather was top notch and looked great the fit of the boot was comfortable and soft. The width (mine was an 11.5 4E) was not wide enough. This was odd because everything else was great but it seemed like it was 3E not 4E. I checked both labels and they where marked 4E. The main problem I had with this boot beside it not feeling wide enough was the sole. It was very thin, I could feel the tread on the bottom of my foot when I walked and the outside rim of the tread made wearing these boots very uncomfortable. I pulled out the insole which had some special gel like center and looked at the foot bed. The inside center of the foot bed had some very soft sponge material on the front and some kind of "Red Wing" marked clear rubber heel. These where just to soft and thin for me and the result was painful feet after a few hours of walking. Another down side is these are made in China. I would had paid extra for this boot to have been made in the U.S.

Overall the boot looked excellent , if the foot bed and sole would have been wider and thicker instead of thin I would have kept these. However the result was a painful walking and standing experience with the tread pushing up on parts of my foot.
