My foot doctor recommended these shoes to prevent reocurring plantar fascitis. This is my second pair and no return of the fascitis. I do step aerobics about five days a week. The seem a little stiff but they work.

Started wearing this style when having troubles with plantar facitis in 1999 but have used them as my primary shoes ever since. They are extremely durable, very comfortable, and have removable insoles so you can use your own orthopedic supports if you like. The heel counter is incredibly sturdy. The toe box is nice and roomy, too. I have never worn a shoe that comes close to the durability and comfort of this one - I can walk all day and my feet don't tire out.
The only drawback I find is that although they have great traction on dry and wet surfaces they are very slippery on snowy and icy surfaces. Wish they made a "winter model" with a heavy duty traction sole.

When I began to have trouble with my feet ( on my feet all day) I visited a local pedorthotist. They suggested the NB 854 for the motion control and support I needed. I bought the shoe from them, and loved it. When it was time to replace those shoes, I was thrilled to find the same shoe, for less money at Onlineshoes.com.
Great shoe, fit & comfort will buy again

I have no complaints, I love the shoe it's comfortable even when I put on a new pair. They are my, walking, play, outside work shoes.
I always keep a pair on hand and have a newer pair for my work in the clinic and an older pair for everything else that I do. Ordering from Online shoes I have had nothing but a good experince and the price is much lower than anywhere I have found.

I use the shoe for every day use. I had foot surgery in Feb. and I just love the way the shoe fits and feels. I can wear it all day and not complain about my feet hurting. It was well worth my purchase.

I have the worst feet west of the Mississippi but I have worn New Balance for years and have been very happy. I use the shoe exclusively for aerobics for a few months and then transfer to all day everywhere shoes.
New Balance 854 is the only shoe I wear.

I am use to the 843 shoe and the 854 seems like it has more support. I have not worn it a lot as yet, but it makes me feel a little clumsey. I think I'll really like the shoes once I get to wear them more.

Comfortable shoe, with excellent support for aerobic training. However, shoes are not as soft (cushy) as previous pairs of New Balance shoes I have purchased. I would still recommend this shoe.

I mostly walk for exercise and do occasional aerobic activity (like kickboxing, Tae Bo). I also have Morton's Neuroma, and have to have a wide toe box shoe. This shoe isn't quite as wide at the top as my walking shoes, but frankly I'll give that up for not looking like I have clown feet! Overall they are great. I start noticing a little discomfort when I have been walking for a long time on hard tile floors or pavement (my neuroma), but my feet are very well supported and they look great!
Looks good and MD likes it, too!

Most shoes designed for wide feet or those needing orthodics tend to look too much for "older" folks or look like clown shoes. These are comfortable as well as stylish for any age. My podiatrist even commented on how good they look, not to mention the proper fit and support they offer for my feet after surgery!
As I find it difficult to afford new quality shoes often, it would be nice to have a way to keep them newer looking as well as adequate sale prices to be able to replace them sooner.
