Had to send back. Very uncomfortable. It felt like there was no cushioning in sole. New Balance was the only shoe I used to wear, but I have been very disappointed in them in recent years. I should have known better. I am going to stick with Brooks. This is the first time I have returned a pair of shoes to Onlineshoes, and I am very pleased with how easy it was to do

I am on my feet all day and do a lot of walking for my job. This is a good shoe that give my the support I need all day long.
The only think I have found is it looses the support after about a month of use. I wear coustom made orthotics in my shoes and require a great deal of support.

Am on my feet all day and these are the only sneakers that minimize the aching. Have worn the same shoe for years and I replace them every 8 months or so with the newest version.

After ankle fusion I had three screws put in my ankle and the New Balance store in Ft. Myers put me in this shoe. The only way I can walk without pain is with the New Balance shoe # 844.

This product performs as described. I use the shoe both on paved sidewalks and streets as well as on unpaved nature paths. Typically I walk on average a mile and a half. And although I have a bunion on my right toe, I am happy to report that my feet feel fine after my walk.

It seems to come a little narrow. Second time around with a wider shoe fit perfectly. Finally got a walking shoe that lets me walk a few miles without foot pain.
Just now ordered my 3rd pair!

I put up to 800 miles on a pair of shoes, even though my wife tells me to order them before then...the soles are usually showing a fair amount of wear on them at that point. I am a vigorous walker and pace myself at 4.0 MPH. I'm stuck on a treadmill in the winter months, but am at the park with paved walkways during nice weather. When I'm slacking, I walk 2 miles a day. But when I really get going in the summertime, I do 5-7 miles per day. The price shocked me the first time I purchased these shoes, but now I wouldn't even attempt to do the walking I do in a cheap shoe. I have been prone to foot problems and these shoes keep me going!

For someone who walks for exercise daily, most any New Balance shoe is well designed. I have owned several models. This 844 is particularly suited for Spring and Summer use as it is very lightweight, yet gives excellent support. I just finished wearing out a 926, which is made of sturdy leather, but doesn't breathe like my latest purchase. I prefer the leather to the artificial stuff, but the weight difference is substantial and better suited for this time of year.

the 844 is cut wider than the 843. Looks clunkier Also am having trouble with the back inside wearing out. Padding is gone after as little as 100 miles walking. Still one of the best shoes out there

I walk 2 - 4 miles on a daily basis and have tried many different brands and models of shoes. This model is the most comfortable I've ever owned. The only down side to these shoes is that the sole didn't wear as well as other shoes I've owned. While I normally get ~6 months out of a pair of walking shoes, this pair had a hole worn through the sole after just 4 months.

I ordered both the NB 926 and the 844 in 11D. the 926 was a true 11D and fit great. very happy with it.
The first pair of NB 844 I got I sent back because it felt like a narrow 10 1/2. the replacement pair was the same. this model was not a 11D and you should be aware.
