I am not a runner but walk 4 to 6 miles per day on pavement and woodland trails. This NB shoe is a great shoe for walking. It is light and yet provides plenty of support. In fact, I ordered another pain last week.

Great traction - but I'm worried that the sole will wear out quickly. At least a full size too small. Very light.

I run everyday, year round in a northern rural state... NH. Bought these shoes specifically for Winter running on snowy, icy and muddy dirt roads. The sole looks like a mountain bike tire with lots of room for snow and mud between the knobs. It works, the traction is excellent. The shoe is comfortable, but unlike other pairs of NBs I own, the heel counter is very low cut offering a little less stability... seemingly an odd choice in a trail shoe. Still, another solid NB product.

These shoes are designed for the trail, yet they are great for the road too, especially in the northeast when much snow is on the road shoulder. Light, soft ride, good traction, most comfortable running shoe I have ever worn. I am a heavier runner........and I still love them. Here's hoping that New Balance makes them for awhile and does not try to fix something that is not broken.

Pros:
Hugs the foot well, Very comfortable upper
Cons:
Non-durable soles
Best Uses:
Grass, Non-rocky trails
Describe Yourself:
Active & Fit
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

The shoe hugs the foot extremely well and is very comfortable until you hit a rocky trail. I ran a 9-miler on caliche. Even though I am a lightweight (130 lbs), I could feel all the individual rocks. The soles of my feet were sore for days. I would recommend it only for dirt trails with few rocks.
