I walk and run 4 - 6 miles in these shoes about three or four times per week. They are comfortable and light, yet have great support. I bought them after falling in love with my Merrell waterproof Apollo hiking shoes. I live in the New Orleans area and, as you can imagine, need a rugged, waterproof shoe that can handle mixed terrain that varies from wet to muddy, from levee to potholes, and everything in between (except snow or mountains!). I have somewhat flat feet and these shoes give me great support. For the first time in many, many years I went with a different shoe manufacturer and I am completely satisfied. I'm sure I'll buy Merrell again.

I LIVED in the prior version of these shoes--best shoes I've ever had. Used them for trail running, hiking, road running, casual wear. Plowed through creeks, mud, gravel, bare rock, concrete, grass, etc. Could NOT wear them out. I am only buying these new ones because my wife thinks I am nuts to keep shoes so long.

The "lace locks" on the current pair require you to pop off a plastic piece every time you need to adjust the laces--like taking the shoes on and off. This system reminds me of the I Drive on a BMW--perfectly impractical; weird, in fact--but elegant in some designer's mind. I plan to cut them off and use regular laces, which they kindly provide. (Sort of says something about the new lace locks...)

I am a high school track and field coach on the Oregon coast. Late winter and spring tend to be pretty wet so I needed comfortable shoes that would truly keep my feet dry. These are working very well so far.

I really liked these shoes, this is the first pair of Merrells I've ever owned. They seem to run a little small and I had to exchange them but I love the fit and they make my feet feel great. I had been starting to have a lot of arch pain the last few months, especially after running and they have made a big difference in that.

Great shoe. I wish they came in wider sizes. The shoe is too narrow and slightly too small in the toebox. If you have a average foot it is a great shoe.

Nice running shoe fit - fairly lightweight.
Lacing system is a little cumbersome, but it can be replaced with standard laces if you don't like the stretch pull on lacing.
