The outer gray suede material around the entire sneaker is subject to marking/scuffing. Removing the scuff marks is not exactly an easy task. I should think that a more appropriate material is available that would be less vulnerable to scuff marks

My foot and ankle surgeon recommended this shoe for my entire family. He was, in fact, wearing these sneakers every time I went to see him. They combine support with comfort and have a high toe box which gives the toes room to move comfortably.

These were the only sneakers that my ortho surgeon recommends for his patients. He and his staff wear these sneakers in the office every day. I started wearing the 990 series after being unhappy with other brands. I have tried other brands since my first pair of NB 990 but ALWAYS return to the NB. The new series 992's are the best of the best. I have a high instep and the wider width really help with the fit. These running sneaks are so comfortable. I have recommened these all NB shoes to friends and I have never received any negative feedback.

One of the few shoes in a large size that fits narrow feet. Wish they had it in black, but we narrow feet people have to be happy with anything that has a good fit. Could be a bit longer for a size 13.

I'm not a runner at all. I'm a doctor who is on his feet all day long and these shoes are the only I've found that keep my feet feeling fresh at the end of the day. I had multiple pairs of the 991s but hadn't had a pair in a couple years. When I got the new 992s it was like finding an old friend. Just plain comfortable. I recommend these shoes 100%!

Run 7 miles a day so I buy several pairs of running shoes a year. Been wearing only New Balance for the past 15 years and 990s for the past 10 years. Current version is the 992 (the number increases by 1 every few years until it reaches 999 then returns to 990). The 990 series is more comfortable and lasts longer than the 2000 series which costs twice as much. Over the years my only complaint was the boring gray color but the M992BW is a very sharp white with blue trim.

I don't usually order running shoes on-line so really didn't know how this would work out. Got the shoes and they seemed to fit okay. Of course my wife, who never works out, gave me a hard time about how bad the blisters were going to be using new jogging shoes.
I have had the shoes about a month now and I jog over five miles a day 6 days a week and I'm really satisfied with the shoes. I have had the 991 model in the past and errored in my order and got the 992NV. I'm really pleased with the shoes and the whole on-line ordering process and would do it again.

Pros: Most comfortable running shoe among the New Balance and Asics that I've tried. Keeps me injury free. Undoubtedly the best running shoe for me.
Cons: The shoe laces can loosen. Don't understand why on at least one of the lower New Balance shoes they would place laces that are slip-free, and on this model they won't. Compared to the other NB and Asics shoes I've jogged with, this model wears out the fastest.

The New Balance 992 shines again. This is at least my 5th pair (I bought the 991s before the 992s were available) and they have all performed well and lasted. They are very comfortable and easy to wear for an extended time. I usually buy 2 pairs every 18 months or so (one black and one gray) and alternate them based on which was last used and what I'm wearing. Technically, I didn't "need" to make this last purchase because my current pairs still have a lot of life in them, but when I saw they had a white/blue-trim, I decided to get it also. As always, the fit was perfect right out of the box.

One of the only shoes that comes in a 13AA size. I am 67 and have been wearing this shoe for years due to the size of my feet. Also I wear orthotics and they work well with the removable insert that comes with this shoe. My left foot is totally flat and has been since age 14. These shoes are the best I have ever found.
