Comments about New Balance MX1008BK:

This shoe is in line with previously purchased NB shoes. Good quality, light and comfortable. I usually purchase there wide shoes but this one was slightly wider then NBs I had purchases in the past. I would purchase again but the regular width would probably do best for me.

Comments about New Balance MX1008BK:

I ran several times a week 3-5 miles each time for 25 years. Fifteen years ago I changed to New Balance running shoes. Five years ago I decided that I wanted more strength, agility, and overall conditiioning that I did not get from pure running. I started in a Boot Camp class 3 days a week.. I learrned quickly that my running shoes were not providing the lateral support that I needed for the many varied exercises, etc. that we performed. I bought my first pair of New Balance Cross Trainers in 2002, and have stayed with them, purchasing several pairs in the past 5 years. I still run/race walk 3 times a week outdoors and the Cross Trainers are perfect for that activity.

If you weigh more than 230, are a masters athlete, or just looking for a trainer that can take the punishment of serious activity while providing maximum comfort, then this is the shoe you need. NB has always had a reputation for stability and comfort. These aspects are essential to the larger, older athlete. You can depend on this shoe to give you that and more.

Comments about New Balance MX1008BK:

Looks well-built - squeaks a lot - seems bulky and a little clumsy compared to the 991 shoe I usually wear.

Onlineshoes.com Response: When comparing the New Balance 991 to the 1008 please keep in mind the 991 is a running shoe built for forward motion and the 1008 is a cross-trainer built primarily for side to side motion.

This is a wonderful shoe. However, when you are in constant activity the area on either side of the top of the tongue rubs and causes blisters until they are broken in. Just be aware.
