I had another pair of asics and I wanted to try another style. these were just the ticket. I like leather ,I wasn't used to all the nylon on the other pair but got used to it and loved them. these feel great and look very stylish .

I have used various older versions of the Asics GEL TR shoes in the past. As I understand it, "TR" (Technical Running) has generally served the function of cross-training shoes in the Asics line... basically they take a running shoe and then add elements to make it more suitable for cross-training activities (i.e. added lateral stability). It seems that the Gel 2xx-TR series seems more geared towards running, while the Gel 1xx-TR series seems more geared toward cross-training. This is my observation and this hasn't necessarily been true of the previous models. That being said here are comments specific to this shoe (140-TR). I find that they are well-suited for gym activities and even tennis - they provide enough lateral support. However, the cut at the ankle is relatively high (I actually like this aesthetically). Previous models had more padding in the ankle area but the 140-TR seems to have skimped a little on the padding. So straight out of the box I did experience some discomfort with the high cut at the ankle during intense lateral activities - I expect this to alleviate as the shoe breaks in. Also compared to previous models I find that the 140-TR gel heel is actually more forgiving and comfortable... so this shoe makes for a comfortable walking shoe and isn't too bad for running either. Previous models felt stiffer. However, for general purpose walking and or running I still prefer a mesh running shoe. All in all a great shoe at a great price.

I ordered the Gel-140s because I needed a shoe with lateral support and my running shoes haven't done a very good job with this in the past. To my suprise these are not only the best trainers I've ever owned but I can even use them as a running shoe if I decide to change up the training and don't feel like changing into my runners. I was also suprised at how light and breathable they are for a leather shoe. If you're looking for a shoe that lets you do it all, this is the one.

I purchased these because my Podiatrist recommended trying the gel heels and they have been wonderful. I will not wear anything else when it comes to athletic wear. These make my feet feel much more comfortable and I've had surgery on both feet.

I walk an hour daily. This shoe is go good that I have two pair and alternate every day. I have two knee replacements and these shoes afford the support my feet and knees need.

I am a group fitness instructor and ASIC crosstrainers are what i prefer. no achy arches and hold up well after taking a severe beating in my aerobic classes. I reccomend them to any one who has chronic foot pain. they are naturally wide and really hug the foot. i won't buy another.

The best muilti-purpose lightweight shoe I,ve ever bought. Has just the right amount of mesh to maintain dryness during a intense workout without sacrificing support.
