Comments about SmartWool Midweight Zip-T W:
When I first saw the price of SmartWool Apparel I was a little skeptical. I've always worn silk as a base layer for skiing and camping because it's light-weight and breathes far better than cotton. As a general rule, I've never worn wool by itself because it's itchy, does not stretch, and typically gets way too hot.
After wearing the Midweight tops all last year, I can safely say that I will only wear SmartWool now. The tops fit great, they're never too hot, they breathe, do not trap moisture like cotton, not bulky in a backpack...they're awesome! My only complaint is that they did pill a bit after several wash and drys, but had I not dried them or took better care when washing, this might not have happened.
