I've worn SmartWool socks for years and highly recommend them. Don't be taken back by the word "wool", they are soft and gentle on the skin. I was hestitant to try them because of the wool, but have been proven wrong. Now all I wear are SmartWool and they are coming out with some fun designs besides the basic hiking socks.

My 3-pack of smart wool light hiker sox arrived well before christmas, but i waited to open them to delay my gratification. I even gave one pair to my son. I wore my older smart wool sox with impunity, only the oldest ones show any wear. These new light hikers are warm enough to wear cross-country skiing and not too warm to wear to work. They are just about perfect.
