The AT Tread outsole of the New Balance MW1569 hiker combines both trail and running rubber lug designs for on- and off-road performance.
I originally bought the 10.5 D and it was too short. Always wear 10.5 D. I ordered a replacement in size 11 D. It was also too short. I don't know were to stop in resizing. I have not confidence in this model 1569.....Don't Buy.......Buyer beware!!!!!!!
I have 3 pair that were perfect 976 please bring it back. Perfect fit....goes everywhere.....great quality.....If it came back I would buy 3 pair immediately.
977 fit was great......976 is my favorite
I walk everywhere around the world......
Hope NB wakes up and puts quality back in, otherwise I am off to the competition. Boo
Nearly all of my shoes are New Balance. I have bought them for years and they have been excellent. This is the first pair of New Balance shoes I could not wear. There are three issues I have with these shoes:
1) The sizing is way too short. My toes hit the end of the shoes just standing in them.
2) My best walking shoes from New Balance are the 955's which were sold as a country walker. I also have a couple pair of 928 walking shoes which are more comfortable than the 955's due to their deeper toe box, but they do not offer as much support or protection as the 955 for walking on rougher terrain. I bought this pair to replace the 955's since I noticed that the last they are made from offers a deeper toe box and they are marketed as both a walking shoe and a hiking shoe. But compared to the 955, these shoes have no where near the support. They perform more like a light tennis shoe and not at all like a hiking shoe. The shank and support of the 955 are totally missing. They are even less supportive than the 928's.
3) The workmanship of the shoes is very poor compared to all my other New Balance shoes. Two of the top four lacing hooks, which are placed on the cuff of the shoe, stick under the leather to which the cuff is stitched. This makes it very difficult to lace the shoes. One has to put their fingers inside the shoe and push the cuff outwards to expose the hook in order to lace the shoes.
Overall, this is a very disappointing shoe.
Not as well made as predecessors (MW975, 976, 977, etc.). No metatarsal support (flat bottom).Upper lace hooks difficult to engage due to shoe design. Materials not as good as predecessors; prefer smooth leather uppers to more stretchable split leather or fake chamois. Used to swear but New Balance. Will start looking at other mfrs. to replace.
Shoe is very comfortable and great for all day wear.
Pros: Comfortable True to size
Cons: Seems a little wide and not as durable as I would have liked.
I wear these shoes everyday all day. They are very comfortable however I would not recommended them for every day wear since purchasing them. Because they are suede leather and not nubuck I had one of the shoes tear along a seam. I fixed it with supper gorilla glue which worked well at sealing the hole. I do not find them very warm even though they are water resistant. I would recommend these shoes for someone adding to there shoe wardrobe but not for someone who only typically owns one pair of shoes.
