No t the same as 883

This shoe was suppose to replace the 883, but the SL2 style is narrower and less toe room that the 883, plus the tong of the shoe is too short to cover the laces when the top hole is used.

Shoe Finders & New Balance

As I get older, proper fitting shoes are a necessity for overall body comfort. I decided to try all the Shoe Finders I could google & I was surprised at how many definitions differed with each shoe finder. Eventually I found one that led to my NB 840WR. The clincher was the price in Shoes Online. I did find, though, that I needed a cushion insert to make the shoe most comfortable.

Lightweight heaven

Built on the NB SL-2 last, especially lightweight, plenty of cushion. I can't believe ran on NB 1123s for years--now those feel unbearably heavy and stiff (now replaced by the 1540 I think). Makes me think all the motion control etc. is more marketing than an actual help. Am on my third pair of 840s after about 1000 miles, they always feel good. But one star off for the gaudy, ridiculous styling (especially the back side), unless that's your thing!

Great shoes

These shoes are great, I am on my third pair since starting a running and walking program to lose weight. I would recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable shoe for walking or running.

Comfortable shoe!

Have used the 878, 880, 883, and now 840. This is the last one before style and last changes.
