Comments about Mizuno Wave Inspire 5:

I've enjoyed my Mizuno Wave Inspires from version 2 to 5. But, as I progressed and transitioned into marathons (OK, I've only done one so far), I'm finding the support in them doesn't last on long runs. By about mile 9 or 10, my feet start to get sore. I thought it was maybe just me, but then I tried other shoes, and it's been OK so far. Also, I'm finding the support isn't lasting in terms of durability. I'm finding by about 250 miles of usage, they feel flat right from the beginning. I tried to find another style of Mizunos that felt as good that could give me more endurance, but had to switch to another brand. These are good for daily running, but not for marathon training. I think Mizuno will even agree that these were not really designed with that intent.

Comments about Mizuno Wave Inspire 5:

As an older runner, who is of stocky build and short stature, I need a sturdy and yet comfortably cushioned running sneaker. Ive tried many types and always come back to the MIZUNOs. Good value; Ive paid alot more and alot less and it didnt matter if the fit and feel was wrong, it was the wrong shoe. I can run for miles and know its not the sneakers that cause me problems and thats a big worry off the performance improving list. The shoes perform as promised, are dependable and wear and wear before they ever breakdown. You wont go wrong purchasing a pair of MIZUNOs here. YOU will be happy!

Comments about Mizuno Wave Inspire 5:

I've got to say that Mizuno is about the most underrated running shoe manufacturer out there. I've been running in the Mizuno Nirvana and Inspire series for years and have always been incredibly impressed with the quality, and fit and feel of these beautiful shoes.

The WAVE Inspire 5's fit like a dream - the open air mesh and reduced overlays on the upper make this shoe feel more like a fitted sock than a full on shoe. Their WAVE technology provides great medial support for the mild to moderate overpronator (almost 85% of runners) and the responsive and well-cushioned midsole/outsole combination creates a really fluid, responsive heel-to-toe transition. Hard to put the feeling to words, but it really does feel lovely.

I've been a longtime fan of the ASICS GT 2000 series and this is the only shoe in the past 10 years that I can say gives it a full run for the money.
