Good shoe

If I hadn't already purchased the Merrell Paragon, I would have classified the Waterproof Maipo as the most comfortable shoe I've owned in recent history.

Compared to Merrell's Paragon, however, it is a close number two. Its main drawback are the two cords two that run along the side of the shoe securing the eyelets. When the laces are cinched up, they can cut into the sides of the foot and become uncomfortable. The tension of the laces must then be fiddled with so the shoe is snug but not so snug that it becomes uncomfortable.

This probably would not become an issue if worm with socks, but the Waterproo Maipo is definitely not constructed for that purpose.

So, for perfect fit with or without socks: Merrell Paragon
For a perfect fit after some fiddling: Merrell Wterproof Maioo.

The shoes are awesome!! Super Lightweight!!! One drawback is the shoelaces are secured by nylon straps on the exterior portion of the shoe-- The laces are secure now but I have a fear they could snap mid-hike under stress -- but so far so good!!!

This is another great Merrell sneaker! It fits great, is light weight and extremely comfortable. I do a lot of walking around my college campus and this sneaker gets me there. I would buy it again.

Good, comfortable shoe. Use for recreational sports. I got these shoes for hiking the Narrows in Zion National Park. My feet got beat up pretty bad from the rocks. Do not use these shoes to hike The Narrows. Instead buy Canyoneers or rent them for an outfitter in Springdale like Zion Adventure Company. They are a much stiffer shoe and protect your feet from the rocks. If you do choose these shoes, get them a full size too big so the neoprene socks will fit.

I really like the looks and feel of this shoe. I bought it for a trip and used it on the beach and walking around. It looks great, was extremely comfortable, and dried quickly when wet. The only cons I had were that the sole insert/liner pulled out every time I took them off. Not the end of the world but a pain when walking through an airport, etc. Also, a short walk on the beach filled the shoe with sand. It emptied out pretty easy but the benefit of the waterproof has this drawback

I wear these shoes two to three day a week from early until late. I never think of taking them off at home they fit like a glove. In addition, they look great with jeans or shorts.
