Nice, but not true to size

This is my first Merrell pair. I have to return my first order for size 8. I am usually size 8, but this Merrell's 8 is too small for me. Even size 9, which I have now, is a bit uncomfortable. There are no readily available half sizes either. Overall, it's a nice pair of shoes for everyday use.

My second pair

This is my second pair. Not crazy about the looks but is the best thing for my feet. I use them indoors as well.
The first pair I use in the "camino de Santiago" for a seven day walk in Spain, not a single blister.
The shoe feels llght, cool and comfortable. It has a good grip on the feet helps prevent then from swelling on all day walk. That caftmanship is not that great.

Great shoe - very comfortable, no break-in required. Looks good, comfortable, what more could you want? They passed my first real test - camping in North GA the weekend of the "Great Flood" of GA in September 2009 - held up great, gave me great traction through mud and slippery river rocks.

Only 4 stars because the first pair I got had an awfully loud squeak in the left heel. Exchanged it and the new pair doesn't squeak.

I used Merrell's sizer and measured my foot to get my size, and it was spot on. No sizing complaints from me.

Really like the feel and fit of the shoe. However it is not a shoe that you can put on/take off at will, unless you carry a shoe horn around. I recommend it to anyone looking for a great feel in a casual walking shoe, with the stated warning concerning the ease of access.

These are the shoes that brought me to the Merrell brand. I took a chance on these and having had a great experience with them, I purchased other models: Intercept, Maipo, and Pantheon. Each have their own special qualities. Merrell has filled a functionality gap in the athletic shoe market between running shoes and hiking shoes. By thoughtfully designing shoes that can be used casually as well as for a variety of athletic activities, they give you a wonderful variety to choose from. I especially like the Pivot model because of the low cut around the ankle.

Great for hikes of any kind. Best to wear a sock that comes above the ankle to avoid rubbing. Otherwise, great shoe. Comfortable, versatile, light weight.
