These are some real, real great shoes. I like the tension/lace deal; easy to slip on and off. Nice grippy soles for the rainy NW.

Bottom Line:

Comments about Merrell Cruise Control:

easy to slide into for the person on the go. good looking, makes the transition from class to the fields without a shoe change. My son has a nomal width foot with a narrow heel and these hold his foot perfectly. Normally if he can find a shoe that holds his heel, the toe box is too narrow. He plays competitive tennis and likes a shoe that transitions well when he is not on the courts. Lightweight, great stabilization and ventilation.

Merrell has made better
By Gabe in NYCVerified Buyer from NY, NY on 8/31/2009

Cons:
Uncomfortable
Best Uses:
Mixed Terrain
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:

Comments about Merrell Cruise Control:

Merrell has made better. I have never had to "break in" a pair of Merrells. These needed about a week of casual wear and insertion of shoe trees in order to get them to be comfortable. I almost returned them. They are getting comfortable but its taking time.

Flap and speed lacing

Bottom Line:

Comments about Merrell Cruise Control:

The speed lacing I took out and used the others that were provided, I also cut the fold down flap of and the little hook keeper that broke within a week. I took the plastic merrell piece that cam with the speed lacing and laced it over were the hook keeper use to be. After the conversion I love these shoes and have a pair of casual dress and sandels from the same company.

Comments about Merrell Cruise Control:

I trail run in the woods with these, I wouldn't ask for any other shoe. The air flow through the shoe keeps your feet from overheating, and it fits amazingly. I do have to agree though, there is a lame spandex flap that serves so purpose...I cut it off.

Unnecessary flap
By Matt from Colorado on 11/28/2008
Sizing:
Feels true to size
Width:
Feels true to width
Pros:
Comfortable, Good Traction, Rugged

Comments about Merrell Cruise Control:

Hard to see in the pics, but at the top of the tongue there is a seemingly useless 2" spandex-like flap with a hook that pulls down on top of the tongue (at least in the pics) and hooks into the laces (at least in the pics). The Merrell website calls it the "Lace Control Flap." No idea what the purpose is, but the hook clicked annoyingly when running.
