I prefer a stiffer sole that offers more support. I find more support in the sole in other Johnston & Murphy shoes that are over $200. These soles are too flexible for me and do not add enough support for my foot. I added gel inserts and can get by with these shoes now. I only rated 3 stars because I like a sole that offers more support. If you like a shoe that has a very flexible sole, then I would judge this shoe better than 3 stars for you.

I purchased these shoes primarily on their classic, yet stylish look. They’re a little more than a cap-toe, but definitely not too crazy. I happily found out that these had cushy leather on the inside, making these some of the most comfortable dress shoes I’ve ever owned. The upper is made with very nice leather, though I did put a small scratch in them early on in my ownership. Other than that, they are great!
