Comfy right out of the box. Each size 12 weighs 13.6 oz (386g). The inserts to change the width do work, and the standard width fits my slightly wide feet. Not much in the way of arch support. I see these as light everyday shoes, light trail/approach and very light duty bouldering kicks. Very nice, but not for me for pulling switchbacks with a pack or all day on granite and chert. Nice wide toe box and according to my wife very stylish looks! Probably not the best choice for wet weather, but if you want some casual/day hike shoes that are nice and light these are a good choice.

This shoe became an instant favorite for me. It has great traction, is exceptionally light weight, and all day comfortable. The break in period was very brief. The upper is easily soaked in the rain and doesn't dry like a trail running shoe so it's not the best for wet environments unless you're just walking on wet, slippery surfaces in an otherwise dry situation. I haven't tried water-proofing the shoe and, right now, it looks great. Perfect for boulder-hopping, a lunch time walk, or being ready for whatever blue sky outdoor adventure is next.

I like the shoe. It looks good and seems very well made. I have wide feet so sometimes order a half-size larger, but these shoes seem to run a bit smaller than normal, so they fit snugly. Also the area that runs along my heel in the back of the shoe is rather stiff and a bit irritating. Hopefully this won't be a long term problem.

Bought these shoes for my husband and he loves them! There was no break in required, and cushioning and support are great. He works on a farm/ranch, and wears boots most of the day, so these are a welcome relief. He appreciates the arch support along with the traction, not to mention the great look! Have only had a short while, but the shoe looks very well made - and the fact that the laces go clear to the toe is an added bonus! Would order again...

I'm a girl who needs wide width shoes, so I tried these men's shoes because the women's wide widths weren't wide enough. I can wiggle all of my toes, so I know they fit well, and that was with a layer of sweat-wicking and wool-blend socks. These hiking shoes were used, for the FIRST time, on a three hour night hike in pouring rain. My feet did get tired, but they did not get wet or get any blisters. I had absolutely NO break in! My feet stayed warm in the 45 degree temp. Also, there were several occasions on the hike that I had to climb steep inclines and I believe the shoe's good traction was the reason I didn't slip.
