Comments about Clarks Taiga:

My son wanted a comfortable "grown up" shoe when he left for college after wearing tennis shoes in High School. I chose this shoe because he could slide it on and wear it with everything and I knew the Clarks's brand would hold up to the rigorous wear and tear of an 18 year old frat boy. He loves his shoes and they are true to size, so we didn't have to exchange them. I would recommend a coating of all-weather protectant.

Comments about Clarks Taiga:

Really pleased with the Clarks Taiga; it's got great style and comfort. I bought the aviator taupe version and wear them often with jeans and tees or button ups. Almost every time I wear these shoes I get a compliment or two. They're far more fancy than a sneaker, but just as comfortable. I wish they had a little more arch built into the shoe, but other than that no negatives at all. As with most my dress shoes and boots, I wear a Superfeet dress-fit insole with the Taiga and can walk around all day long without any discomfort. Great shoes for the young urban male.

Comments about Clarks Taiga:

Great shoe at first, looks good and comfortable. Two major problems:

1. Doesn't stretch at all and a little tall, meaning getting your foot in is difficult. Also, no stretching means that once in your foot slides around quite a bit, causing blisters on the back of your heel.

2. The very soft sole and loose fit makes it very prone to rolling over, particularly around the toe. It is very unstable. I've rolled my ankle on numerous occasions on things like uneven sidewalk, stepping off a curb, reaching for a book on a shelf.

Problem #1 I hope will just go away. To fix problem #2 I bought an extra insole to make the shoe fit a little tighter, but it's only marginally better. Recommend trying it on in a store before making your decision.
