As a teacher and athlete, I am always on my feet. Bad shoes (i.e. Keens) finally caught up to me and I developed a metatarsal problem (among others) that even Dansko shoes couldn't fix. I used orthotics in my old shoes for awhile, but they didn't help. The Chaco Z1, Z2, and PedShed share the same footbed and it works better than any other shoe, straight out of the box. After two weeks of use, all of my foot problems disappeared. Dansko Professional shoes are decent, but they lack the negative heel of the PedShed, and that renders the Dansko's arch support less useful. Chaco just figured it out. Durability has been great, and they are so comfortable I forget I'm wearing them. Perhaps needless to say, I now own two pairs. I normally wear a size 10.5, but these are only available in whole sizes so I moved up to a size 11 because the top of the shoe is stitched within the footbed, effectively reducing its size. All of my Chaco sandals are size 10.

This is the third pair of Chaco z/1 unaweep that my husband has owned. He's tried a lot of other sandals and carefully considered the rest of Chaco's line but these are the ones for him. He wears them every day rain, shine, or snow and has traveled to a dozen countries in them, worn them hiking, even to formal events (they are the only shoes he owns). He tried to get me in some but I think they look tremendously clunky with those thick black and very durable soles.

I mostly use these at work, just because they are the most comfortable thing I have tried. I work 12 hour shifts on concrete floors, and it sure is nice not to think about your feet hurting all day. I also use these on my days off unless of course I need a specialty shoe of a different kind, or if I'm wearing another pair of Chacos!

These are the best Chacos for just slipping on, lounging around, or keeping yourself busy around the house, even in town. Breathable for when you need protective shoes in the summer, and they keep the dirt out of your toes in the garden (even though sometimes you just want to slip them off and walk in the dirt). These can easily just be washed off when dirty as well. Another great pair of shoes from Chaco.

This purchase was for a spare pair of this great shoe. I currently have this brown version as well as black, canvas, and several other variations. They show almost no signs of wear, but I like this brown leather version so much that I decided to make sure I have a new pair in case Chaco stops offering them. I wear a pair to work everyday. They are great for air travel because they are so easy to remove and put back on. Size 10 is a little roomy for me, but the extra room allows for a variety of sock types to match the weather. In warm weather the extra space keeps my feet cool. They can be worn with the strap loose for extra comfort, or snugged up for vigorous walking. I initially thought that the textured rubber footbed would be problematic, but the opposite is true. The material and the texture allow thermal space for cool summer and warm winter wear.

I wear these sandals around town, to parties, and even for short walks in the park. I purchased them to wear on a mid-spring trip to Italy, and I have found them easy and quick to break in. They are going to be perfect for the hot weather here in Mississippi and in Italy. At first I had about two inches too much strap left, and it was dragging beside my shoe, and I finally cut them off. Is there a common solution for the excess strap? Also, it did take a little while to determine just how to best adjust the strap. The videos aren't really very helpful in dealing with that, and I would like to see one that is more detailed for strap adjustments.

I started out with Chaco sandals and found the footbed to be extremely comfortable. These are the most comfortable leather shoes I have ever owned. I have high arches, and the arch support is great. I wear a 9M in Chaco sandals, and I wear a 9.5M in the Chaco Pedshed shoes. I am usually a 10.5 in running shoes. These are the only shoes I don't have to put special insoles in. I have plantar fasciitis, and I don't notice I have it when I'm wearing these shoes. The sole is the perfect stiffness. I can walk all day in these.
