Bought these for my tiny mother-in-law. She's 85 and thrilled to have a lightweight, breathable shoe. It has a nice, solid base to help her stability. And the lacing is great for arthritic or swollen hands. She didn't know such shoes existed! We didn't tell here they're made for kids (she might be small, but she's a force to be reckoned with!). She says they look "like they mean business!"

I bought these for my 11 year old son so he'd have some stable, sturdy shoes for camp. He is a big Crocs wearer, but he needed something more substantial for hiking and other outdoor activities. I had tried on his current tennis shoes that he always complained about - from a name brand clothing mail order catelogue - and I realized why he didn't like those shoes - no support. I own several pair of Merrells and knew that if the kids shoes were as supportive as the adult shoes, he'd be happy. I was right. His Merrells feel great on him and I feel good knowing that he's got great support and comfort.
