I love these shoes... I am a woman with small feet, so I was able to get a boys 4.5 instead of a women's 6.5. They fit great and cost me $40 less than the women's alternative.

I only use my shoes for running. I run about 15 -20 Km per week. I am a size 4.5 in ladies shoes and they don't make women's athletic shoes that small so the challenge is to find a great quality children's running shoe that fit. I've tried other brands and ASICS 2140 are the best I've tried so far. They have great cushioning and with my orthodics in place, they give me ample arch support. I am waiting for these to wear out and then give my new pair of ASICS Kayano a try to see if they are even better.

This shoe is for my 9 year old son. He has Autism and is not able to articulate what a shoe feels like on his foot. So, I look for red spots and if he is favoring a particular foot and he is not. Also, he chooses these shoe to wear everyday, and he wouldn't do that if they caused him discomfort. He also has flat feet. Asics is a great shoe for flat feet because of the Duomax construction. We will be buying an identical pair when these wear out.

My son needs arch support, and most youth shoes don't have it, so I buy Asics for him every time. These are good shoes, especially for an active boy. The only problem I see is that the rubber part that comes up on the toe starts to come off very soon every time. The rest of the shoe holds up very well. Asics should find a way to make that part more durable.
