With the stormy days still lingering but warmer temperatures with more daylight coming upon us in Seattle, I am outside more with our newly adopted dog, Murphy. He joined our family on November 15, 2010 just in time to enjoy plenty of dark, soaking wet morning or evening walks through the winter. During the winter, I walked many miles on twice daily walks with Murphy in my trusty Timberland pull-on boots in black suede with a SmartWool lining. They have seen better days.
Now that it is starting to finally get nicer (well, sort of) outside, I was looking to find new shoes that would be easy to get into at a moment’s notice and would still protect my feet from the wet. Comfort and durability were important considerations as well.
In looking for a new shoe, I decided to start looking for a clog with a lining and, low and behold, Timberland came up again with a clog that has a knit SmartWool liner: the Timberland Beautiful Clog. I ordered it in black just due to the nature of the shoe being purely for utility. I honestly would not characterize the clog as “beautiful,” but I did get compliments on them on a recent trip to the PCC market in my neighborhood.
The clog is sleek and comes with anti-fatigue technology that is supposed to be supportive for all-day wear. Given that I only wear the shoe for short walks so far, I can’t attest to its anti-fatigue capabilities, but I do feel that they are very supportive for how lightweight they are. Initially, they rubbed my toes a bit when I had to flip them on in a hurry while barefoot, but now they are completely comfortable. So, just a bit of breaking in was required.
These fit true to size with a slim fit, and they are roomy enough in the toe box to allow wiggle room. I’m happy to add the Timberland Beautiful Clog to my collection of shoes. Murphy is pretty pumped, too, and twitches with excitement when he sees me slipping into them by the door.

Sounds like a great shoe, maybe I should look at them also!
