Peter, thanks for the inspiration. Your running adventures with your daughter sound wonderful.

My cat isn't much good for walking outdoors, but she does love to run the stairs in the house and leap from tall buildings.

Given your interest in your local community, running, and keeping yourself motivated to walk and run outdoors, I think you'd enjoy Mr. Jimmy's Birthday Challenge. I was blown away by his commitment to run 80K for his 80th birthday.

Imagine what you'll be doing at that age if you keep going now! The Olympics!

I own a 9-year-old Japanese Shiba Inu who keeps me in shape. If I do not take her out walking several times a week she gets in to mischief like digging trenches, pulling the stuffing and squeakers out of her toys, and flinging her dog bed around, and the colder it is outside, the more she loves it while I freeze! I love her nevertheless. She is the best investment I ever made.
