  • For me toning shoes will make a difference in my life because for the first time ever I have commited to getting in shape. I’ve been going to the gym religiously for the past 9 weeks and I feel good. I have 3 kids and enjoy being very active with them. I’ve made a huge lifestyle change for once in my life and I’ve stuck with it. New shoes to help me get fit are that much more motivating for me:)My challenge is to be in the best shape of my life by 30 and that happens in December so the count down is on.

  • Midlife comes with many challenges, not the least of which (for me) has been the shifting of bodily weight distribution. I am eager to take these new toning shoes on long daily walks with my dog Ringo and create a POSITIVE SHIFT, away from the thighs and derriere. Thanks for this opportunity to win. :-)

  • “How will toning shoes make a difference in your life?”

No longer will I have to set aside a block of time for toning exercises – I’ll be able to stay fit and toned all day long. Toning shoes can be worn for everyday routines and they are stylish!

  • Toning shoes would make a huge difference in my life by making walking a more productive activity than simply a means of locomotion! I would love to strengthen my legs while doing something I do all the time anyway. Thank for the chance to win!

  • I’m always on the go and having extra support in the toning area will help me be more efficient!

  • I have been walking in hiking shoes but my back bothers me after several days of walking and I have to stop for a week. I read that toning shoes could really make a difference in back and knee problems. So I am hoping that I can lace up a new pair of New Balance toning shoes and show my husband that I can walk and keep pace with him and not have any back or knee discomfort. And from what I understand, I’ll be burning more calories than he will. That’ll show him.

  • Wow! Those toning shoes look really sharp! If I had a pair of those shoes I’m sure that my overall fitness would improve and maybe my daily runs would get faster. Not to mention the great toning effects….

—By pixibead on July 6, 2010 at 2:11 pm
  • I WANT A PAIR OF THESE NEW BALANCE truebalance toning shoes!!!

I walk every day, usually anywhere from 12,000 to 25,000 steps. Although I walk quite a bit, I have poor posture and I would also love a way to invigerate my exercise/toning ability while walking.

These New Balance ‘truebalance’ toning shoes look like an awesome way to get more out the time I walk. The shoe looks light enough to remain comfortable and their shape looks easier to get used to than a shoe like the Sketcher Shape-Ups.

How great to be able to tone various parts of my body and get an increase in calories burned while doing what I really enjoy doing.

I’d love to have a pair of thse shoes. I look forward to winning a pair and getting more out of my walking exercise efforts!!!

  • I am a 57 year old Neonatal nurse who works 12 hour shifts. I have come to love New Balance shoes because they get my feet through the long shifts without pain. After many years of spending so many hours at a time on my feet, I suffer from foot problems and my Podiatrist suggested New Balance. On my off hours I wear Aravon shoes. I love them and have all my nurse friends hooked also. I think that it would be great now to be toned while I have healthy and comfortable feet. I may not be a youngster chronologically, but I’m young at heart and want to look and feel it. I really appreciate that New Balance has stylish shoes to wear while toning and still having healthy feet. Thank you New Balance.

  • Toning shoes? Seriously? How sweet is that? Every bit helps when you get to mid-life. Would love to have a pair and brag them up to the Fab Fifties Friends.

  • The only active wear shoe I put on my feet is New Balance because of the great fit and support to my back. I am now recovering from sciatica and have gained weight and lost muscle tone after being unable to do any kind of exercise for almost a year. I need new shoes to start walking daily to strengthen my back and legs.
The NB Toning shoes sound perfect for me and I would love a pair.

  • When I turned 30 I gave up my job to start a non-profit group, Great Lakes Lab Rescue. Saving Labs lives has brought me much joy in the past 10 years. Since that time I have also had 2 girls. I turn 40 in 2 weeks and feel that I need to give back to myself a bit. I used to workout and run every day. Receiving this would be a great 40th birthday present to give me incentive to focus on myself again!

  • My husband and I (ages 59) have made a commitment to get healthy by eating better and exercising so we can enjoy life, not sit and watch it go by. Been thinking toning shoes would be a great boost for an all day work out and posture correction! Are men’s coming next?

—By nancysathome on July 8, 2010 at 6:31 am
  • They would be wonderful to help me in keeping my weight goal, improve my total body image, so I can be less painful and more active.

  • Just passed another birthday ending in “0″ and I’m sincerely trying to maintain a healthy body with proper diet and exercise. I currently wear New Balance shoes for my daily walks and have been contemplating the purchase of a pair of toning shoes. I’d love to win a new pair of shoes to maximize my walks. Thank you.

  • I got severe back injury several years ago. After that injury, I could not exercise/walk as much as I wish to do anymore. My body is also much less toned than I used to be. Hopefully, this pair of shoes will empower my walk and help myself to “tone” myself a little more efficient.

  • I have been looking for toning shoes, but found the rocking ones little extreme for me.I am excited over your new TrueBalance shoes. They appear to be very used friendly. I recently have had two surgeries and will need all the help I can get to tighten up my lazy muscles when I can resume my 2+ miles a day walking regime on July 20th. My walking companions, two dogs, will be thrilled to be back on the road!

Thank you for your consideration. jlm

  • First of all, New Balance shoes, how can you go wrong with them. I have two pair of running shoes and I just love them. I need to get a better round bottom ( don’t we all) and all my friends say these shoes are GREAT for all parts of your body. Give my a chance to win a pair and I will be a great spokes person for New Balance, “Let the Games begin”- think toning!!!

  • About 2 years ago I started a quest to make healthy lifestyle changes and lost over 60 lbs. Then I quit smoking, which was a fabulous lifestyle change but unfortunately brought 30 lbs back to me. I’ve spent the last year trying to get restarted at losing weight and getting fit. I’m much more athletic than I ever have been in my life, but we live in busy times. I would love to try these shoes out, I’d be working out all the time, even on the run!

—By angela on July 12, 2010 at 11:08 am
  • How will toning shoes make a difference in my life? As a travel writer, I log a lot of walking miles. Why not walk happy in a pair on NB toning shoes?

—By Nancy D. Brown on July 12, 2010 at 2:24 pm
  • The words “activate muscles in the legs, glutes, and core” just make me want to stand up straighter! I have pretty poor posture and find myself constantly slouching. Toning shoes would really help motivate me to stand and walk properly–living in the city, I walk everywhere and take my kids to school, stores, activities, parks, etc. Toning shoes would be the answer to my poor posture and hopefully help me acheive the illusion that I’ve gained an inch in height!!

—By Li'l MG on July 12, 2010 at 3:01 pm
  • I have four kids under four years old and though we try to exercise daily, it’s hard to predict Florida summer showers that sometimes impede us getting outside to walk or ride bikes everyday. I’m always on the go, though, so wearing shoes that work out my muscles would be a huge help to getting the exercise I need to stay healthy and be a good example to my children. My youngest are twins (18 months) so I’m still trying to lose the baby weight after getting HUGE during their pregnancy and get back into shape. Now is the time! I would love these shoes – all my tennis shoes have always been New Balance so I am very excited they have come out with this line. Best of luck to everyone!

—By Angelique on July 13, 2010 at 9:30 am
  • I am a single mom of 5. I was an athlete and in my early adult years taught aerobics was a personal trainer. My life has been forever altered by crimes that have been committed against my children. I’ve lost everything and along with it my health (the stress of these events has resulted in an over 100 lb weight gain)and self-esteem. 3 days ago I glued together the only pair of athletic shoes I have. The soles had almost completely detached from the shoe ( I am conscious of how my appearance must embarrass my children). I can’t afford new ones, but I so desire to be more active, even if it’s not at the level I once was. I never win anything, but I think it’s an inspirational sign that I came across this contest. These inspiring shoes could be the start of a new beginning for me. Thank you for the opportunity.Fingers crossed!

  • I would love to win a pair of these TrueBalance shoes to help me in my quest to lose weight. I had gastric bypass in 2002, within two years had 2 sons and never met my original goal. Now I am working hard to lose and exercising is the final component. I think the TrueBalance shoes will give me the added boost I need!
    Thanks!

  • I have Morton’s toe as well as plantar fasciitis all in the same foot. The orthotics did great in the New Balance shoes that I already had. My orthopedic doctor recommended I get another pairs for wearing around the house and the other for outdoors. Both pair have been worn out. I’ve had trouble doing exercise’s since all of my foot problems have come up and have gain a little weight. I know the balance of the stability shoe would benefit my feet and my body. I am a busy stay at home mom and don’t have much time off my feet. I am defiantly going to look into these shoes further since it’s time for new shoes. New Balance is my favorite exercise shoe. I will always own a pair.

—By Machull on July 14, 2010 at 7:28 am
  • I have been going to the gym religiously since May 10th. The only shoes that don’t hurt my feet are New Balance. The shoes I have right now are two years old and the laces are fraying. Everytime I think of buying a new pair for myself one of my children seem to need something. I am not very good at buying myself things because I like to buy for others. My gym membership was the gift I asked for for my Mother’s Day present….ha ha! I am so excited about becoming fit! I already feel so much better! I would LOVE a pair of the New Balance Trubalance shoes!

—By Heidi on July 14, 2010 at 7:53 am
  • I think that if these shoes, which look fantastic are enough to inspire another back to health, wealth and happiness then they should most certainly be shared with that person. I’d love to see you give these to Gigi – who left the comment above. Seems she could use a ray of sunshine and this might be just the thing to get her “back on her feet”!

—By Loreen on July 14, 2010 at 7:54 am
  • I just saw these shoes on the Today Show and I want them!! I am an almost-50-year-old nurse – on my feet all day. I am at a healthy weight but I want to start an exercise routine to tone up. I have been tempted to buy other toning shoes but I’m just not crazy about how they look! These shoes would be absolutely perfect to help me get started! :)

—By Cindy on July 14, 2010 at 8:01 am
  • Goodness – I will be 60 years old in September! I need to do something to help me keep up with the grandkids. I am still too young to turm into a frail old lady who can’t play and enjoy all the fun and activity they bring to my life. I think even us old folks can learn new tricks, and this looks like the best trick for keeping in shape that I have seen.

—By Zeffiemae on July 14, 2010 at 8:15 am
  • I have 2 daughters for whom I want to get into shape and set an example for. Now that I am in my mid 40′s, I realize what an important part of life exercise is. I lost my mother last year and she was never a believer in eating “right” or exercising; I want to change that for me and my girls. I am committed to getting into shape and staying in the best shape of my life. Also, as an educator I walk several miles each day in and around the building. We also recently a dog, so I have to get out and walk several times each day (sine we have no yard). Having the right sneakers to help me tone while I am walking can only be beneficial to my cause. I believe that the Truebalance sneakers will help me achieve and maintain my goal.

    —By E on July 14, 2010 at 9:05 am
  • I am almost 60 years old and I’m anxious to lose 50 pounds and improve my overall health. I have RA and cannot wear the other brand of toning shoes because they are too painful on my knees and arches. These shoes like they will work perfectly—no “rock” when you walk but arch support and spring in the heels. That’s just what I need!

—By Bodie on July 14, 2010 at 9:42 am
  • I vote you give a pair to Gigi (July 13 @ 10:06) and then if you have more I would love a pair of the 850′s. I need to be more active for my physical and emotional health. I know that I feel better when I’m active and haven’t been following a routine. New Balance shoes would help me tone up what has gone flabby around the middle and keep my mind healthy as well.

—By Shana on July 14, 2010 at 9:57 am
  • After being in treatment for metastatic breast cancer for the past year, I have some lasting side effects that include swelling in my feet that seems to be here to stay. Consequently, none of my shoes fit any longer. To help me regain some strength and stamina we bought a treadmill, but for now I walk in bare feet. Shoes would surely help.

—By terpsi on July 14, 2010 at 10:05 am
  • When I saw these shoes on the Today Show this morning I really liked the style and color. I went online to locate a retailer and found this contest – BONUS! I have always appreciated New Balance shoes and the fact that they come in wide widths makes them the ones for me. My birthday is coming up this month and being a 50+ plus mom of a teenage son and a teacher’s aide in preschool, I need shoes that don’t hold me back. Thank you for making these great looking shoes that will improve the quality of my life:-)

  • I’ve had foot and knee problems and I’m hoping these would allow me to get into shape so that I can join my girlfriend next year and do the Susan G Komen 3-days for a Cure walk.
She’s walked 3 times now, for her many friends, including me, that have dealt with breast cancer. I am happy to say that I just celebrated 4 years since my treatment! Everyone was so wonderful to me during a challenging time. I want to get out there and be a cheerleader for others that might need encouragement.
I’m actually at a point right now that I need some new walking shoes and would love to try these out! Wouldn’t it be cool if I could wear them to “Walk for a Cure!?”
    Thank you for your consideration,
    warm regards,
    Karen

  • I agree with Shana that maybe Gigi should win a pair!! I am so excited to hear about these shoes. I have been dealt a double whammy. I am a breast cancer survivor and I deal with multiple sclerosis. I am very committed to getting healthy and staying that way now that I have a second chance at life. These shoes sound wonderful and my last 2 pair of walking shoes have been New Balance. I love them because they come in wide widths.

  • Recovering from foot surgery and still in physical therapy, but after almost 4 months in casts and boot walkers, I can now wear shoes – but only athletic shoes with good support etc. Would love to try these to get my happy back.
After almost a year of this foot issue I want to enjoy some of my summer by walking! THANKS…

  • Have put over 500 miles on my last pair of NB shoes and was looking for a replacement. Would love for this to provide the extra ‘oomph’ needed for desired toning and weight loss!

    —By 2ballersma on July 14, 2010 at 4:51 pm
  • These are adorable and they would make a difference in my life by helping me tone-up and build more muscles in my legs. I walk my dog every night for an hour, but I’m hoping to start running with her. I think these would help build the strength I need to gain before I start running.

—By Tara C on July 14, 2010 at 6:05 pm
  • Wow. These shoes look great unlike the ones my co-workers have all been wearing. I am a nurse and am on my feet all day long. I had a bunionectomy last September so comfortable shoes are a must. I am so excited about getting tone while I work. I love new balance shoes. In my profession comfortable shoes are so important and it looks like you nailed it with these. Comfort and style all in one. I am ready to get TONING!!!!!!

  • I love New Balance shoes for walking. Great shoes! I would love to get a new pair of the toning shoes. It sounds like something I could use. I walk or swim daily to help with my physical health. I was diagnosed with Lupus in 1991 and vowed to do everything I can, to be as healthy as I can. I try hard to eat very health and exercise regularly.

  • As a daily dog walker the New Balance truebalance shoes would be really help to be able to keep up with the border collie that demands a longer walk that I would normally do for myself. Anything that would help wear her out would really be appreciated. Plus the shoes look GREAT! I have been looking at the other toning shoes on the market but when I saw these shoes on the TODAY show this morning, I thought those are the one I want. Hope I get picked!

  • Toning shoes will make a huge difference in my life. As I’ve gotten older, I’m now feeling little aches and pains here and there, especially in my lower back. I think good shoes are a must for good posture, and good posture helps keep a healthy back. Toning shoes would help me walk properly, and I wouldn’t mind some toning of my legs as well!

  • These shoes will make a difference in my life by giving me more time to exercise by walking around the neighborhood instead of going to the gym during times when the gym is closed or I rather take a 30 minute walk around the neighborhood rather than drive 15 minutes each way. I have been struggling with my weight since I turned 30, and I would love to lose those dreaded last 5-10lbs!

  • Things are starting to creep up in my life my weight, my blood pressure and the wonderful years I have spent in this life. I am surrounded by many friends that have grabbed fitness by its shoulders and are never letting go, they just look great.

They have purchased the “other guy’s” toning shoes but when I saw New Balance on The Today Show I knew these were the ones for me. My feet love your shoes and the support for breast cancer made this an easy choice.

Keep up the good work and I look forward to trying a pair of these toning shoes.

    Thank you

  • I’m a Kindergarten teacher, and I’m always on my feet. Not only do I have 22 energetic five year olds, I am also a mom with three children from the ages of 7 to 1 who keep me very busy. As I turn 40 this year, I would like to get fit, especially since having my last child last year; but it’s been very difficult finding time. With these shoes, I am hoping that it will give me that “extra” boost to help me get fit in every aspect possible. Finding time to go to exercise has been difficult, but since I’m always on my feet in some way, these shoes may be what I need.

  • These shoes sound wonderful. Anyone who has “bad” feet will understand how difficult it is to find the motivation to work out. Shoes designed like the True Balance sound not only comfortable, but also effective.

  • My two border terriers would love it if my new shoes motivated me to take the two mile walk that I should take with them every day!

  • NB True Balance sneakers will definitely improve my life! They will allow me to walk with more stability, balance & support, which is especially vital for me after my knee surgery (@ only 29 yrs old). To have a stylish [orthopedic] shoe that ALSO strengthens, shapes & tones my legs will be IDEAL!

  • Having a pair of toning shoes will allow em to get more out of all the walking I do while I’m at work. I am a stocker for a large retail store and I walk so much during my shift. I would LOVE to have a pair of these shoes to icnrease the ammount of calories I burn just from doing my job. I don’t have much drive to get up and workout after I get home form work beacuse all of the walking, bending, and lifting wears me out, if I can somehow increase the ammount of bang for my buck with the “exercise” I get at work I will finally be able to lose some weight.

  • I would love to have a pair of these shoes. I am a mom and have enrolled in school again at 43 to become a nurse after many years out of school. Walking has always been my exercise of choice. I will be on my feet for hours a day as a student. A pair of these would allow me to tone while learning my nursing duties. Getting fit and learning at the same time, what could be better? Except winning a pair of these shoes? Every nurse I know SWEARS by New Balance and I’ve been a New Balance believer for years!

  • My feet seem to be getting old, but I feel young(-ish) and want to do things that require feet that don’t ache in shoes that don’t pinch or are too big or have patented in-soles (designed for somebody else’s soles but definitely not mine!). Maybe the True Balance shoe will be the rejuvenator my puppies need.

  • I am really old but I still go to exercise class three times a week and try to walk in my neighborhood three times a week. It ain’t easy but I keep at it. A springy shoe that provides both a lift and exercise for my cramped legs sounds perfect.

  • I’m a senior who usually exercises regularly but am currently taking radiation for recurrent breast cancer and don’t have the energy that I normally do. I think toning shoes would be helpful as I would benefit with just my normal walking.

  • My daughter turns 1 next month and after having my second child I have realized that 31 is so far from 21 especially when you’re trying to get back in shape. I have always purchased NIKE but my sister loved New Balance shoes and recommended I try them. I saw the commercial for New Balance’s TRUE BALANCE and am looking forward to trying them. I hope I win.

  • The True Balance shoes will significantly help my fitness. Working 10+ hours a day with a majority of the time spent on my feet, walking or standing, toning shoes would help give me an added fitness edge (to my marathon training) while I’m at work. Knock out two birds with one stone!

  • I’ve been trying to lose weight (I’m about 40 over) for some years now. For the most part I’ve been unsuccessful despite regular workouts at the gym. Lately I’ve discovered some small success by combining different types of workouts concurrently and shoes like this would make a fantastic contribution to a varied workout, providing a passive or semi passive component to my activity by adding an excercise I don’t need to think much about as I go about my day.

  • Being a teacher is all about multitasking! I grade papers while I cook, call parents on my commute. What a better way to multitask than to get extra toning while I run errands and walk the dog?!

  • I have been doing Zumba three days a week and working so hard to get my legs and rear looking like something. I have been totally upset with the way my body has looked since my daughter was born. I need these shoes so I can ad walking into my routine.

  • I love to walk and to have a pair of shoes that will tone my legs and behind while I do it is just the icing on the cake! These are the most stylish toning shoes I’ve seen and I’d love to own a pair.

  • I am a Mother of three young children, and I have exercised at the gym 3 days a week for the last 10 years. This fall, I will be taking three graduate courses, working towards my Masters in Special Education. My gym time will be cut out due to the hours I will spend in the schools working on my Practicum. I walk my children to and from school every day, and those 12 blocks will be my only exercise. These shoes are the answer to making the most of my workout time!

  • I’m a teacher in Washington DC and I spend my life taking care of others. It’s time to take care of myself and my body. Being in shape means being a better teacher for my students and a person to myself! These shoes are a great first start!

  • I want to feel even better about walking the dog in the morning and get the biggest workout in I can; especially with work and everything else life throws at you every day, that could very well be the only good workout I have time to get in that day.

  • I am a nurse and I am constantly on my feet. I have tried MBT’s in the past, but I always go back to the New Balance. They seem to be more comfortable. And as I always say, “we only have 2 feet”……

  • I believe these shoes would make a huge difference in my life. First off, New Balance shoes are so comfortable. Secondly, after having my 10lb baby boy, my belly just hasn’t been the same and I would LOVE to reverse that. Third, I walk constantly all day and would love to have a shoe that my feet wouldn’t hurt in at the end of the day!

  • Towards the end of April i broke my ankle. I’ve recently been able to walk around again without a cast but to actually start to get back into shape i need to get a pair of shoes that i could fit my brace into. Having true balance toning shoes would be the perfect thing to help me get back into shape because from experience New Balance makes the most comfortable shoes and they would give me the jump start that i need.

  • Truebalance Toning Shoes to me mean not falling into the “Freshman 15″ category that everyone expects me to fall into. Truebalance Toning Shoes mean health and showing everyone that being fit and healthy is for everyone!
