Made in America means something.
America was built on the idea that freedom inspires greatness and hard work is rewarded. Which is why New Balance is committed to supporting domestic manufacturing and proud to be the only major athletic shoe manufacturer still making shoes making shoes in great little towns like Norridgewock, ME and Lawrence, MA.
In all, New Balance has domestic manufacturing plants in five New England towns. They engineer and produce high-performance sneakers like the New Balance 993 and the New Balance 812, and then proudly sew on the “Made in the USA” patch.
Fully 25% of all New Balance shoes sold in America earn the “Made in the USA” patch—and it’s not an easy one to earn. To qualify, a shoe like the New Balance 587 must be produced by a US workforce and contain at least 70% domestic materials. Occasionally, due to availability, economic or quality reasons, there is a need to import components from foreign sources. If that is the case, they will qualify the label as including domestic and imported material.
The point is, for more than 100 years New Balance has demonstrated a commitment to both the American athlete and the American worker. High-quality athletic footwear engineered and manufactured by motivated and dedicated people just like you.
